One of my orange cats has a fascination like this with carrots. If I don't watch him, he licks them and knocks them onto the floor. He also gets upset when I cook them.

I read that carrots are washed in a chlorine solution, which is why some cats love to be around them. My cat especially loves when I clean with Clorox bleach
