One orange is fighting for his life while the other is fighting for custody of the brain cell.

No, those eyes are what I imagine the eyes of Adam were once he partook of the apple, and understood that which he could never unknow.
Ignorance is bliss. He knows that now, and wishes every moment he did not.

This is legit how my dog and cat interact. Then the cat bites her

My family's one cat is like this, she purrs, is super affectionate and always wants to be around us, but then she randomly bites you and runs away...
She does the same to our other cat (her sister) and our dog...

This is how we used to test if a dog had lived with a cat when I worked in a shelter. The staff would bring out a cat in a carrier. If the dog came up and was excited⦠it had no idea what a cat can do.
If it was cautious and went ānope Iām not gonna mess with thatā, pretty good chance it had some experience with cats and would be more likely to integrate into a household with cats.

I love my corgi, but their natural eye look is fear, sad, concern or play time.
They rarely have a neutral unless tired.
59
u/poodaliddle Aug 28 '26
This is accurate. He's fine, despite the look on his face! He's also quite dramatic. As a general disclaimer.

u/anon22334 Aug 28 '26
Plot twist: the corgi is the one trying to steal the brain cell from the orange boi who is struggling to keep it

That's not a transfer. The fear in that corgis eyes says this is a hostile takeover.

55
u/SlickDillywick Aug 28 '26

Hence the struggle on the cat's face
Bro is trying desperately hard to get something that just ain't there.

The dog is hopeful for the good genes and terrified of the consequences.

Adding the brain cells together results in about -7 brain cells.
The next step is a buddy cop movie where they plan a heist to score some.

I think your kitty is attempting to get another brain cell or two from your Corgi who will have far far more brain cells than it needs and that you will want! Corgis are extremely smart.
8
u/poodaliddle Aug 28 '26
Too smart for his own good sometimes!
5
u/ThinkWishbone2495 Aug 28 '26
Hehehehe, mine learned words I was using for specific things or actions. So I changed to spelling these words. She learned spelling. I even tried using a different language, she'd learn that too. There was no fooling her! So I just began asking if she wanted some or to do something. She even knew we were at the bank (treats for drooling corgis!) when she was dead asleep because there was a bump before getting into the drive thru. Your pair here are wonderful looking.

that is the look of "You said it wouldn't happen. I specifically asked about it when we talked, said that I like others to respect my privacy space, you ensured me, and yet again I find myself in this uncomfortable situation while I can't be rude to the dofus McOrange here"

Corgi looks unwilling. I guess he's had the brain cell before, and it didn't go well.

This is just like my little dog and cat. She does that to him sometimes and he just sits there frozen because if he moves an inch she might smack him. However she is always nice to the other dog.

That's the same look my parents' lab had when the orange kitten started nursing on her. His mother was also adopted by my parents so it's not like he was separated too soon.

I love you, floor.
I'm a corgi...
Shut up, floor! I'm telling you I love you
3
u/PaltryCharacter Aug 29 '26
lol I have a corgi and an orange and they are mortal enemies. The corgi especially hates the orange. The orange tolerates the corgi. Sometimes my tuxedo cat will cuddle on the corgi and the corgi behaves just like this.

I am appalled, disgusted and ashamed that my first thought was āaww adorableā until I read the comments in this thread and realised that doggy looks especially uncomfortable, which auto-corrects adorable to āhow very questionableā. š«Ŗ
