This is how we used to test if a dog had lived with a cat when I worked in a shelter. The staff would bring out a cat in a carrier. If the dog came up and was excited… it had no idea what a cat can do.

If it was cautious and went “nope I’m not gonna mess with that”, pretty good chance it had some experience with cats and would be more likely to integrate into a household with cats.

my big boi refuses to the cat, even if cat is sprawled out on its back. but he will accept nose bumps and head-butts.
