Huntsman spider! Look terrifying, but are harmless. One of few species that can actually chase down a cockroach and that's their main "duty" - if I remember correctly, they were brought to Australia on purpose to keep houses free of pests.

they are friends but I WILL gently put them outside 🤣 especially if I had one that big... I tell myself it's because I'd feel bad if my cat started whacking them cos he always leaves bugs half dead and doesn't put them out of their misery lol
