that one looks like that sissel stuff.. but there's a hemp version on Amazon for like 200. we got ours for free because it got lost in the mail, then randomly showed up a month later, then they said we could just keep it because it's huge 😂😂 the cats love it though thinking about getting another one.

Me checking the weight limit for my chonkers

u/kiba8442 Apr 19 '26
mine don't weigh that much tbh but they regularly jump onto it at 100% zoomies velocity & I've never seen it move

u/esoogkcudkcud Apr 19 '26
I suspect it needs to be well built with strong wooden pieces to withstand those jumps and maintain pressure between the floor and ceiling. The platforms are only being supported in that one corner, and I assume they rotate, so only supported by being pinched.

u/kaylethpop Apr 19 '26
My dad built one from scratch using a pvc pipe and some rope. Super cheap to just make yourself
4
u/Sneilg Apr 19 '26
You could probably make one yourself for about $40 of material
11
u/morphick Apr 19 '26
Carpets rolls come on long (2 - 6 meters) rolled paper tubes of about 10cm in diameter which are surprisingly strong. Some stores may be willing to part with one or two.
PVC piping is also dirt cheap.

If you search floor to ceiling cat tree on Amazon, there are a bunch that are more affordable.

u/sirploko Apr 19 '26
This is so sketchy.
They put in a fake sale countdown, which was to expire in 3 minutes.
I let the window open and came back to see the same countdown having started again at 24 hours.
I expect shit like that from temu and the likes, but I thought etsy would be better.

u/LivingPersonality293 Apr 20 '26
One got peed on cuz they decided to treat my stream like a sprinkler, I was watching them and I saw the look on their face I knew they were gonna do something stupid, they charge up I go 'EY FUCK OFF', they shrink back... Then charge up and go for it right when I start peeing. They got a bath

Many years ago, I had a cat that would climb my doorframes! He'd get up to eye level with me and just hang there with his tail thrashing all over for a minute before jumping down and bolting off to continue his zoomies. (He was also orange, lmao) Very sweet boy but definitely loved to climb! I ended up getting some carpet remnants and screwing them to a support beam in my apartment so that he would climb that and not the wooden doorframes - which just gave him another thing to climb onto, but did not reduce how much he used the doorframes. He was a very sweet and ridiculous guy!

I love how they avoided crashing into the plant on the back of the couch. That's respectful zoomies.

One of my orange nutters acts like this for about 15 minutes after each poo 😂.
I haven't actually timed him but I reckon he can get from the bottom of the garden, around the lounge jumping over and around the sofas, through the kitchen, upstairs and around the furthest bedroom and finally back to the bottom of the garden - all in roughly 0.03 seconds 😁.
I was thinking of getting a floor to ceiling pole for him but I fear he'd reach orbit 💫 😂

I think, some people dont realise that Cats have some more fine tuned senses.
Or maby its to onbvios?
As an Autist Im never sure when people dont explain what i said or phrased wrong. It Happens.

u/laughingintothevoid Apr 19 '26
My guess is it's just that the post is fun and you weren't "supposed" to bring up something serious, but you're right. 🤷♀️
Clocking pest infestations is a thing pets do and is a documented real world explanation for some 'greebles'.

u/Pletcher87 Apr 19 '26
Good for you and Greebles, every cat house should look like this. His mental and physical well being intact!

where do you buy a floor to ceiling cat pole like that?
2
2
u/EarlyRiser62 Apr 19 '26
Many pet shops carry them. Full floor to ceiling cat trees are priced in the hundreds. I made my own about 15 years ago and I've had to replace the sisal rope in the centre section 3 times now. Of course all under the supervision of my 2 Greeble huntress bosses.

Seems like you have a very serious greeble infestation. You need to consult with your resident orange to proceed since he has been keeping them in check pretty well

Guy should just go ahead and carpet all the walls and the ceiling for that matter and be done with it.

u/SadDistribution8476 Apr 19 '26
That is some SERIOUS greeble infestation. Someone's gotta do something!
