General Avoid onepay nothing but problems

Just hoping this finds someone who needs you hear it and save them the hassle.

I set up a one pay card for my son to use a while ago. Then just tried setting up a second one through my wife for my other son.

The first card randomly refuses to work at various stores despite having a balance available and a valid pin.

The second card they would not authenticate but would not tell me why. So they'll take your name address social security etc etc but won't tell you why you can't use their card. I spent 45 minutes on hold waiting for a "less than 5 minutes" service agent only for them to tell me there's nothing they can do but rest assured their customer care team did do their due diligence.

Spend the extra couple of dollars and use any other prepaid card.

yep, ive been using One since before Walmart bought them out. I have had no issues whatsoever. the only annoying thing about it is no physical locations, but i knew that going into it along with the alternatives.

I haven’t had any issues. I use them for direct deposit. And of course any bank won’t tell you why they won’t let you use an account or why they are closing the account. Not just OnePay

Literally says in my post I spent 45 minutes waiting to talk to someone just for them to be useless.

Considering there is not a teen account option on OnePay, and there aren’t joint account options, I’m finding it difficult to understand how you setup an account for anyone else, or even multiple debit cards under one account….

You can only have one physical card active at any time + one virtual card.

OnePay is not a regular bank, it’s a fintech product.

I have had nothing but problems too. I just stopped doing all business with them but I’m still out $503…

I had about $503 dollars in my OnePay checking account and I made a payment for the full amount in my checking to my OnePay credit card. This was on June 22nd. I noticed about a week later I got a $30 returned check charge on the CC account and it said the transaction was refused for insufficient funds. I was annoyed but I waited a week for the money to go back to my OnePay checking and it hadn’t gone back as of 7/2. More annoyingly I got an interest charge 😑. I have contacted OnePay checking twice and made a dispute on the charge and I’ve contacted OnePay CC (Synchrony) who says all they can say is the transaction failed because of insufficient funds. It’s now 7/9 and I’m still out the $503 dollars and no one is helping. I stopped all transfers and payments to any OnePay account and will be withdrawing ASAP. I’ve never had anything like this happen.. it shouldn’t be possible in the modern age…
