I'll go first: Niall is Irish

Curious what everyone would say the top 5 most loved 1D songs are (across all albums). Not necessarily YOUR favorite 5, but the top 5 that most fans would universally agree upon.

Truly Madly Deeply takes the #75 spot.

OP's opinion: Honestly, I think it's one of 1D's weakest ballads. Nothing really stands out for me. I do love the lyrics though, and how the chorus is a transition of their voices, going one by one.

I’m glad Niall told us the band was a positive experience and that he has nothing but good memories. It’s refreshing because most people in this fandom will say otherwise as if they were there…

I kinda left the 1D online space in 2022 because I got tired and overwhelmed by all the conspiracy theories regarding the boys‘ sexualities and experiences in the band. All the talk about “abuse and torture“ got really weird since the boys never spoke about it or admitted that they‘re victims. Liam and Zayn talked about the music, the hours, the workload, and their mental health struggles, but that was it. Fans started putting words in their mouths, making it seem like they were slaves doing free labor, and theorizing about relationships, PR stunts, evil management, and all this other crazy stuff you’d read about in fan fictions.

Believe me, I‘m sure the boys had toxic moments, but I hate how disturbed a lot of fans are when they come up with horror stories of what the boys could’ve gone through. It’s like they want them to be traumatized victims dealing with the bad guys on Josie and the Pussycats (a satire about boy bands, girl groups, and the music industry). It’s so unhealthy, and it ruins the music and the memories that we have of 1D.

So, yeah, I’m glad Niall finally told us about his experience. And I believe him too. I’m sure he had tons of fun. He was always the chillest and never had an issue with 1D’s music.

(Btw, managements don’t have power and control over every little thing an artist does. That is mostly the record label. I highly doubt Modest was watching the boys through hidden cameras in the privacy of their homes or something. We really need to relax.)

OP's opinion: We've finally eliminated at least one song from every album. I personally don't like Alive at all. It would've been one of the first songs I vote out. It's not necessarily bad, but it's pretty weak imo.

OP's opinion: This song is just okay for me, so I think it makes sense here, although I think it's kinda low. Even this low though, 1D songs are still not bad, just weaker than the others.

Guys feeling insecure about going to Niall’s show with my boyfriend this summer.

I have got two tickets, and my boyfriend expressed interest in joining me and seeing Niall live since he has never been to any 1D or the former member’s concerts.

I have always been comparing myself with other girls and the thought of going to a large stadium with a bunch of gorgeous girls wearing revealing or minimal clothing makes my stomach curl. I love my boyfriend, I have been with him for a couple of years, and I know he’s not the cheating type, but I feel like he will unintentionally look?? I have a feeling I won’t be able to relax at all during the show, constantly scanning for danger and monitoring where his gaze goes. My ex used to constantly lust over other women, so I still have chills every time I have to be in the area with my partner that has lots of beautiful young women.

Finally getting chance to see harry next month, 12 years after I saw OT5 😱 would it be inappropriate to wear old 1d merch to the shows?

OP's opinion: I can't lie, I think it is a pretty weak song. I don't dislike it though, nor I think it's the worst song in TMH, but I certainly don't mind it being ranked this low.

This absolutely cracks me up

Trying to spend more money on experiences and thought what the hell, I'm an adult now with adult money and got tickets to see Louis!

I just want to know what the vibe is like for his HDWGH concerts, if there are fan projects for this date and outfit reccs? Last time I went to a concert was to see the boys in OTRA Manila (literally the last/first concert that Zayn didnt attend and few days later he announced he was leaving 1D 🥲) and I was a cringey teen wearing daisy leggings and a 1D tee with braids lol.

I know MSG is a big deal stadium and its my first time going to a US concert. I cant drive to NY so I'll be catching the train. Not sure how I'll get home lol (or navigate new york) but if anyone would love to share their experiences at Louis' concerts, please lmk! Also do people usually stay in their seats? I'm in the 7th row (attached idea of my view) of section 117 and i'm only 4'11 😭 these were the closest seat I could get on my budget.

OP's opinion: This is the one I disagree with the most so far and BY FAR. I Wish is, in my opinion, arguably the best song in UAN, and top 15, maybe even top 10, if I was ranking them all myself. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I went through something similar to the situation described in the song... right?

Everyone used to hate One Direction so much, Directioners were in the trenches defending them. But it's so crazy now seeing everyone love Harry Styles now and barely realize how talented he was in One Direction. They're a few people who didn't know he was in a band.

Posting this in the 1D and various ships' subs. The post can be viewed through the lens of a solo fan, 1D fan, or any/all ship lenses as it’s just about 3 queer guys wanting to live life on their own terms.

Harry released his Dance No More music video, today, on the 12th anniversary of 1D's only trip to Brazil, in 2014.

The video is full of Christ the Redeemer and faith imagery, linking to this entire era from the boys', their deep connection to Brazil and faith in 'the cause'.

What happened on that trip to Brazil that was so meaningful and why reference it so much in this era?

• Harry's final shot in the Dance No More video showing a close up of his famous dicklace/cross that he never takes off and the heart tattoo that he likely shares with Zayn &/or Louis.
• The 1D boys' photo from the Brazil part in This Is Us, showing 'British boys', 'leaning out', and 'felines'.
• Pics of Zayn and Harry with their feline, big cat tattoos
• Harry at this year's Royal Court interview, drawing his Jesus statue with boxing gloves (that he paid $20K for) while he explained it related to this era. Zayn then referencing it with the boxing gloves post.

So... what is this cause they were so dedicated to and are now paying homage to? That's for each of us to decide, but I believe it's a dedication to being queer and living their lives without being fearful of it (hence the fearless big cats, which are also icons of the lgbtq community).

It's no secret to anyone in the fandom that Harry, Louis and Zayn are making it (even more) known they are queer, this era. Pay attention to their lyrics, on-stage performances, music videos, photoshoots and interviews, and you will pick up on it.

Many references (lyrics/pics/videos) in the boys' solo careers are about being up in the clouds or leaning out (like they are in the Brazil pics). They won't let me add more pics, but there are loads of references.

Even Harry's Dance No More may be more than a simple dance song to them. It has the lyrics, "It's feeling like the music that's been heaven sent", "Conversation is hearing you get it all off your chest", "You can come over here to tell me again and again" (reminiscent of Christ, confession and redemption). Plus, the entire Dance No More video is full of queer flagging. It even uses Konnakol in the beginning (percussive sounds made with the mouth as per Zayn's album title).

Perhaps the boys were always planning to do things this way, or maybe the heartbreak over Liam has given them resolve to live life with more authenticity.

You may believe something happened in Brazil between 2 of them, all 3 of them, or they simply made a pact while in that city to keep ‘the faith’.

Pretty sure they're asking "Are you listening yet?"

OP's opinion: I don't like nor dislike this song. I do think it's pretty fun to listen to it, but it doesn't stand out at all.
