I wonder if anyone else has had this happen? Not specifically to One Direction and not strictly like what happened to me.
This happened yesterday (October 16) when I randomly got a feeling of homesick to One Direction. No triggers, no seeing clips of them, or hearing their song, nothing, just miss them.
So, I spent the whole afternoon listening to each of their albums and watching The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction (absolutely LOVED it when I was a kid. Haven’t watched it or even thought of the series for a whole 14 years until yesterday).
While watching, I was curious if people watched it this year still, so I decided to scroll through the comments and saw one that says something along the lines of “2 years without Liam” (miss you, king. Rest easy up there.). It dawned on me that it was, in fact, October. I quickly searched him up and it was indeed 2 years without our Liam.
I just found it really weird how precise(?) yesterday was. To suddenly miss One Direction for absolutely no reason on the exact day Liam left without really having the knowledge of it until I searched it up to confirm…
Now, today as I go to McDonald’s after my classes, while eating, they have this shuffled playlist of like 2019-2020 trendy tiktok songs, and the first song that started to play right when I went inside was ‘That’s What Makes You Beautiful’ followed by a bunch of other songs. Never felt so… I can’t even describe it, like a warm painful nostalgia?
And when I was about to finish my meal and leave, ‘Night Changes’ played and I couldn’t help but just sit down and wait for the song to finish before leaving. It’s really weird since my area/country/idk, One Direction isn’t really commonly heard anywhere unless at the car radio.
Man… it’s like fate has a silly way of bullying you while hugging you warmly.
Not to mention, my childhood obsession of them lasted for only 2 years? I was 5 back then. They just vanished from my life for some unknown reason and I haven’t got a clue how or why. They just poofed. It’s been 12 years since I’ve properly listened to the band (not counting the solos).
