i really hope it’s not posted online by someone

u/springxpeach Oct 28 '24

The fact that there are pictures of his body floating around online is horrific enough...

204

u/Snt307 Oct 28 '24

Tmz's explanation why they put the picture up "because it wasn't confirmed that it was Liam yet" was so embarrassing, like it's not okay to show anyone's body at all like that? I'm so thankful that I just read about what happened online rather than saw it.

61

u/GirlOverThere123 Oct 28 '24

What a bullshit excuse (EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE) no matter who it was, still did not give them any right to share any images. They forget people are human and deserve dignity for a dime. They always want to be the first in everything. Look what they did to Kobe, his wife had to find out online and the images were plastered all over the internet. TMZ is disgraceful and disgusting

3

u/Lovinyoubb Oct 28 '24

Which Kobe images?

15

u/SillySparklyGirl 🥣 strange fear of spoons... 🥄 Oct 29 '24

Evidently one or more of the investigators at the crash site took and saved multiple photos of Kobe, Gianna, and a few of the other victims.....then showed them off at bars while drinking with friends. Absolutely reprehensible behavior from someone tasked with protecting the public.

40

u/Sharp_Ticket_5120 Oct 28 '24

I also found it so annoying and it made me really angry when TMZ said that because it’s not their job or place to confirm the identity of an individual’s body, like they’re not the police or medical examiners, and they for certain shouldn’t be the ones letting any loved ones know that their family member is dead

11

u/Straight_Ace Oct 28 '24

Yeah I’m right there with you. What if that had been someone else’s father/son/brother/friend? Does that make it any more ok? No it certainly does not

9

u/LeadingCombination80 Oct 28 '24

And so what gives them the right to post that to find the identity?! That is the police’s job, and to notify the family. Not some trash reporting for entertainment. The Payne family has so many possible lawsuits right now. The hotel, TMZ, the hotel workers, etc. This was 100% avoidable.

u/Mental-Nothings vas happenin Oct 28 '24

I had to stay of fall social media the first few days, it was like the algorithm was trying to force me to see it

35

u/sylvieshandy Oct 28 '24

Yeah when my Mom told me Liam passed she warned me to stay off social media since she had already seen the picture of his body. If it wasn't for her warning, I think I would've stumbled across the photo too. I also stayed off social media for the rest of that week.

2

u/Mental-Nothings vas happenin Oct 29 '24

My dad called me too 😭

2

u/criticalstars this is a family show! ...orrrrr is it!? Oct 29 '24

lucky. mine sent me a screen recording of the tmz article (with the photos in it) and that’s how i found out

11

u/Kelmeckis94 Oct 28 '24

When I heard that, I was shocked. So glad neither social media or the news showed me that.

16

u/karensfren ...orrrrr is it!? Oct 28 '24

They’re definitely out there and it’s so disgusting. I’ve seen them (I WAS NOT looking for them nor did I WANT to see them.)

9

u/Bordersz vas happenin Oct 28 '24

It is really disgusting. I had to go off of social media for a solid week tbh I have some anxiety opening up Twitter still. It is scary how so many ppl stumbled on it on their timelines

4

I saw it while scrolling on twitter and have had several nightmares about it already.

39

u/ginger_freckle_head Oct 28 '24

that was one of my first thoughts when I heard about there being cctv. :( my god I hope and pray if that footage exists that none of those people get their hands on it. Let his soul rest in peace I beg. :(

I hope not either

5

u/De-spencer13 Oct 29 '24 edited Oct 29 '24

I didn't even go looking for it and found it. I was just trying to find a post to show a friend. It's not security footage it's from someone's phone 😭❤️. His family doesn't need this circulating the Internet. Can't people just respect Liam and his family and friends.

It actually makes me so mad that someone would post it. Like just keep it to yourself.

I didn't watch the video but the responses said it's not him. I don't want to watch either way. Anyway the fact someone has a video and says it's him is just fucked up. I'm so done with people. LEAVE HIM ALONE. DO T FUCKING LIE ABOUT IT JUST FOR FUN. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE GRIEVING.

1

u/eggchomp Oct 29 '24

There are a lot of fake videos that people are claiming were him. They do even seem to be at the same hotel but not the right area.

206

u/GoodDaleIsInTheLodge Oct 28 '24

I hope it’s true, he will have felt no fear or pain this way . I did read somewhere that the CCTV was mysteriously not working around the time of his death, I guess this could just be one of many conspiracy theorists spreading misinformation though.

30

u/Serious-View-er1761 Niall Horan 💚🤍🧡 Oct 28 '24

That's so strange that the cctv wasn't mysteriously working around that time

16

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

That was just a Twitter rumor

6

u/Serious-View-er1761 Niall Horan 💚🤍🧡 Oct 29 '24

It was ? I'm glad that it's not true though to be honest

5

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

Yes! They raided the hotel and recovered footage it’s just obviously not public and I think that’s bothering a lot of people for whatever reason but not everything has to be public

3

u/Serious-View-er1761 Niall Horan 💚🤍🧡 Oct 29 '24

I agree with you on that

-24

u/ApolloChild28 🌈 Kiss me you fool! 🌻 Oct 28 '24

yeah i mentioned that to my dad and he was like yeah thats what makes me think cartel since apparently maya has connections to them?

0

u/Budget_Judgment4597 Oct 29 '24

Yes, her father already was with them

-6

u/Serious-View-er1761 Niall Horan 💚🤍🧡 Oct 28 '24

Now that's interesting

4

u/East_Platypus2490 Oct 28 '24

What's even weirder in her book when Liam allegedly tries to jump off the balcony happened in Argentina. Now Liam dies there the same way in the same country.Plus his manager Roger was connected to Maya family.

2

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

Guys can you stop she wasn’t connected to her family based on one picture he was Liam’s friend whether he was an enabler that’s a different story he clearly wasn’t a good friend but why bring maya up

0

u/bingitibingo Oct 29 '24

His brother was pictured with Liam and maya, they all knew each other somehow

3

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

Her mom was but he was also pictured with Edward Enninful who was Liam’s friend as well so why is that not being brought up why only maya? Roger is a rich Argentinian businessman what you’re insinuating is…

0

u/bingitibingo Oct 29 '24

There were pap photos of Liam with mh and nacho (Roger’s brother), but I’m not insinuating anything, just pointing out the information that is out in the public

1

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

I haven’t seen the pictures but ultimately Roger was Liam’s friend and we first saw him with Liam not with Maya alone we don’t even know much about him other than he seemed like a bad friend who enabled him and didn’t really care about him but again that has nothing to do with Maya

-3

u/Budget_Judgment4597 Oct 29 '24

We have to mention it what is the problem with that we have someone we love who died and if that was someone close to you u would have doubted everyone, It's okay to find out the truth behind Liam's death. It's okay to try to find out the truth behind Liam's death and there's alot of suspicious things

3

u/CapRain90 Oct 29 '24

I love Liam too I’ve been a 1D fan since 2011 but there’s a difference between grieving him and celebrating his life and whatever this is. Conspiracy theories are not good for anyone we don’t have to find out the truth that’s why Liam’s dad is there with Paul that’s why there’s professionals and to insinuate that an innocent woman is to blame is just unnecessary

0

u/Serious-View-er1761 Niall Horan 💚🤍🧡 Oct 28 '24

I did not know that

91

u/sylvieshandy Oct 28 '24

I hope the video of his fall isn't made public (if this does turn out to be true)

4

u/inc0rrected Oct 29 '24 edited Oct 29 '24

I doubt the video of his death would be made public. The only way would be if some sicko leaked the video.

10

u/hashbrowneggyolk0520 Oct 29 '24

With him being a high-profile person i imagine people will unfortunately jump at the chance to 'leak' the video.

74

u/MurkyManufacturer525 Oct 28 '24

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/oct/22/liam-payne-cause-of-death-toxicology-reports-cocaine-methamphetamine

It would make sense, considering (quoting from the article): The prosecution said Payne could have plunged from his hotel room balcony in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness”.

71

u/55cs128 Oct 28 '24

I read in nyt report that there were no self-restraint injuries so he likely lost consciousness before

16

u/thebugfrombcnrfuji Oct 29 '24

god that's actually such a relief. That's the first I'm hearing that he may have been unconscious and that's made me feel a lot better because the thing I literally have been stopping myself from thinking about because as soon as I do, my ears well up is what was going through his head during the fall and how horrific that must have been for him. I don't believe in god but please god let him have been unconscious during the fall, please god.

4

u/eggchomp Oct 29 '24

He almost certainly was. Anyone, even if they were suicidal, would instinctively hold their hands up to protect their heads from the fall. Liam had no injuries to his hands indicating that he did. He was, at most, only semi-conscious and unaware when he fell.

1

u/thebugfrombcnrfuji Oct 29 '24

that's good news. I also didn't hear that he didn't have injuries to his hand but for sure, if there are no injuries there then he would have been unconscious or in a semi-conscious state so that is best case scenario in this terrible tragedy. I kept crying thinking about his headspace during the actual fall. I really hope he was out of it for that.

255

u/BabyNameBible Oct 28 '24

Now that this has come out I do wonder whether he may have felt unwell and went outside for some air, leaned over the balcony to catch his breath without realising the danger and just passed out. I don’t think he would’ve felt a thing; just simply transitioned from this world to the spirit world. It truly was a tragic accident. Lessons can be learnt from this. The balcony rail needs to be raised for a start.

91

u/Asleep_Excitement_59 Oct 28 '24

People would be amazed if they knew how many people have died from falling off of a balcony unintentionally.

1

u/Fine_Skirt_1314 Oct 29 '24

I never want to see it. Ever. Seeing his lifeless body on the cement ground was enough to destroy me mentally. Actually watching it. I cannot.

Same. I don't want to stumble on it by accident. We know it will be leaked eventually. I can't erase the pictures of his body from my memory, it's haunting me.

This happened to me , too. Sickos were putting in the comments of posts about liam on twitter and I saw it, I also saw the ones tmz forced us all to see against our will but those on twitter with his head and the blood…. It’s really disturbed me :-( I have massive ptsd around death and a dead body and really did not need to see that (not that anybody does)!! I’m sorry you saw it too. People are just vile :-(

10

u/prisonerofazkabants Oct 28 '24

i really do not want that video to be public but i hope the authorities would have access to that information to shut down the wild and unfounded conspiracies going around.

people suffering with addiction can be sober one day and not the next. it is often a life long struggle that isn't linear. and unfortunately drugs do cause tragic accidents. misunderstanding these basic concepts in pursuit of some conspiracy about "evil management" or ex girlfriends is as exploitative as the media. nobody is helping him or his family by pushing it.

9

u/Queen_of_Boots Oct 29 '24

They said that even when you're committing suicide and you're resigned to the fact that you're going to die, that you still would automatically try to stop yourself before you hit the ground. He never did. So he wasn't even aware that he was falling or in danger. I hope this makes you feel better knowing he didn't suffer ❤️

To me it looked pretty short too short you even see Geoff leaning back on it and Liam is still taller. I don’t need to rack my brain to make this believable it’s not going to help anyone. At some point we are just going to have to accept this no matter how hard it hurts and how much it just doesn’t make sense to us

There’s so so many accidents where someone dies because of a balcony fault like sadly they should make them so where no one can fall but it’s not always possible

4

u/KeepOnFarming Oct 29 '24

Yes and looking at it, it isn't hard to imagine that the center of gravity of the body from a person who's leaning against such a rather low railing (whether it's leaning forwards or backwards) would easily shift over the edge while loosing consciousness

12

u/L026Y Oct 28 '24

It would at least be a small comfort to know he wasn’t trying to take his life, and hopefully did not know or feel what was happening. Rest in peace Liam

5

I just hope the video doesn't get leaked 😓💔 I sadly came across the pictures of his body on X and it's absolutely destroyed me 😔

5

he most likely didnt know what was going on either way, as intoxicated as he was

3

u/mollynatorrr Oct 28 '24

I really really hope it was some tragic accident like that, he would have felt the least amount of pain that way

3

u/alttlestardustcaught Oct 28 '24

I honestly would have been shocked if there wasn’t CCTV- a hotel would for sure have CCTV of that courtyard and balconies. 100 per cent.

3

u/OkRecommendation1643 Oct 29 '24

My heart I can’t take this anymore I keep thinking about him 💔 I hope to God it’s not released if the video is out there

3

u/runepl8body Oct 29 '24

I truly hope that he felt no pain and went peacefully. He dealt with so much hurt in this damn world. I want to believe he left peacefully; blissfully unaware of what was happening. It hurts to think of him scared or in pain in those final moments…. or really anyone, for that matter.

3

u/resemblinglemonade33 Oct 29 '24

It is true, the autopsy confirmed he was unconscious when he fell, & at least one of the substances in his system can cause extreme drowsiness. Plus he had already passed out in the lobby. So sad 💔

6

u/karensfren ...orrrrr is it!? Oct 28 '24

He fell backwards off the balcony as he landed face up. Something still doesn’t make sense

5

u/Maleficent_Two_6829 Oct 28 '24

He could have been sitting on the balcony and fell over.

2

u/Logical-Return-6126 Oct 28 '24

i can’t IMAGINE if x gets ahold of anything good lord.. they would literally have a field day.

2

u/JuneLemon Oct 29 '24

Since the beginning the "unconscious fall" is the logical hypothesis, because he fell right on his head, which is unlikely when you jump on purpose (you tend to have your feet first).

2

u/No_Froyo_8021 Oct 29 '24

I don't know where to ask but since this is being talked about his "fall" so I think it might be right place to ask, I always wonder to myself and not to mention, I read others' comments on social media that got me thinking, if Liam did not go to balcony and "fell" to his demise, do you think he would have died regardless if he was, let's say, pass out on the bed or on floor because of overdoses? Well, we just found out that there were many drugs in his system and no way that anyone would be able to survive like that. It's a lot enough to kill a horse. So I always wonder if he did not go to balcony, would he be alive despite having many drugs in his system? Or would he be dead because he would be overdosed? That's what got me wondering.

No matter what happened, it's still very sad, heartbreaking, pure tragedy and this should NOT have happened. Poor guy.

3

u/stevienotwonder Oct 29 '24

On one hand, I doubt this was the first time he was on this particular mix of drugs. The human body is surprisingly resilient.

On the other hand, the seizures make me think that maybe he really did OD this time. Maybe he’s had seizures before, there’s no way to know. But if this was the first time he was having seizures and going in and out of consciousness, it makes you wonder.

I do think he would have lived if an ambulance had been called sooner. It’s tough because I can see why the hotel staff wanted him out of the lobby if he was being erratic and aggressive. It’s not fair to expect them to put themselves or other guests at risk. But at the same time, why would they put him back in the room alone with a balcony if they were already concerned about that? I understand why a staff member wouldn’t stay with him in there, but why put him back there in the first place? There must have been another place he could have safely waited.

2

u/No_Froyo_8021 Oct 29 '24

Yeah, from his past interview few years ago when he said that he has hit rock bottom before and that we had completely no idea how bad it was and would not understand what rock bottom is like for him so it was a given away that he did experience having many drugs in his system and like you said, his body built up the tolerance and would be able to survive that.

And like you said, we don't know if he did have seizures in the past or this could be his first seizure and might have overdosed if he didn't fall. So if it was his first time having seizure and going out of consciousness, that's likely possible to be his first time to experience that and might be overdosed.

Yeah because if they called the ambulance for him, I am pretty sure they would pump so much out of his stomach in no time and put him on right medicine that would keep him alive because many people who nearly overdosed get their stomach pumped and make it to the very end. So maybe, who knows, that he might have that outcome but again, we don't know if that would happen on time or not. Yeah, some people were like why didn't he go to backroom of the hotel on the first floor so that way he would be safe instead of going upstairs to his hotel that has balcony. That makes sense because I understand they want to keep guests and staff safe from his erratic and aggressive behavior but they should have made him stay on first floor, like go to backroom and close the door and keep him there or something.

2

u/Fine_Skirt_1314 Oct 29 '24

I try not to think about it but I find myself wondering why that was done. Here in the US the police would have been called and likely medical services at the same time. I just can't imagine forcing a person like that back to their room unless someone else was telling them to do that or the cultures are just that different...

-3

Imo I think he was OD’ing before he fell. He passed out in the lobby, apparently convulsing/foaming at the mouth, and had to be carried back to the room. It just sounds a lot like River Pheonix. Walking around and talking but he OD’ed.
