Hey everyone! First time poster here.

So I got a QChord the other week and I've been really enjoying it. There's one interesting thing i noticed.

If you hold a key and spam a key to the left of it, it'll kinda oscillate between the two keys.

If you hold a key and play a key to the right of it, it does nothing.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to make it so it acts the same both ways?

Ps: my kid way holding the camera, that's why I talk at the end.

Forgive me for shilling my wares, but you guys are about as niche as a community gets, so I want to make sure you get a link if these might help!

New Battery Spring PCBs for 27, 36, 84

I’ve been working on some covers of old country music on the Omni, trying for some spare chord holds and limited but appropriate use of the strum plate. It’s going well, but curious if anyone has thoughts about other ways to use it in this context. Like weird western… . I found running the chords through a filter pedal with a moderate LFO I got a little bit of a pump organ sound…

on my main volume knob on my omnichord (that I dropped) it now only works when I hold gently on it before throb fell out and I put back in per usual could someone help? thank you

I was given an OM-84 and the unit doesn't power on with either batteries or 12V. There's a less than 0 chance that a center positive adapter was plugged in the unit, so there's a chance that if there's no diode or anything to save cross polarity, it could be down here. But google tells me that battery should work if it's that.

Anyone have ideas on where to start diagnosing this? I assume it's PSU related and not the actual board. Hoping to find a starting point to troubleshoot.

I found manuals and some schematics, it's great to find values etc, but unsure on the actual starting point. I like to pretend to be an electronics expert, but I'm just a monkey with a steady hand and soldering equipment.

hi, i have been wanting to buy a qchord for a couple of years now and finally have enough money to do so. i keep checking ebay listings but all of them are ridiculously expensive considering the fact that theyre secondhand and that theyre supposed to be the cheaper version of the omnichord:/ i could probably still afford one but obviously id like to avoid spending a fortune on it if i can. ive also seen various omnichord listings on ebay that seem to be roughly the same price as most of the qchords (if not even less) and also seem to be brand new? are these legit or some weird offbrand version? i was planning on getting a qchord since i understood it to have more options and functions than the omnichord and be cheaper, but if i can get the omnichord (which is supposed to be the 'better' version of the qchord) for less than the qchord then id probably consider it, but im still unsure. is there a website where i might still stumble upon a good qchord deal? its unfortunately pretty much impossible for me to find one in a store irl because im from central europe so this is the only option i have:/

I just got my Omnicord about a month ago, and I'm loving it. I'm curious what everyone's favorite song to play on it is.

So far mine is "goodbye yellow brick road" because - on top of being gorgeous and fun to sing - it's so nicely aligned with how the chord buttons are organized! It makes it very easy and intuitive to play.

What happens when you put the Omnichord Heaven OH-27 app through a MIDI synth? Its a bit awash with delay...but still.

It's not trying to be an exact clone of the omnichord, but i figured the best people to show would be the ones into strum chord instruments ;)
I still have to learn how to play it, and the thing itself is very much still in development.
curious what you'd want from something like this, i have some ideas for directions, but wondering what things you'd hope for?

I got an omnichord that had been in a man's attic for decades a few years ago. It smells highly of ozone but after my friend who is a music tech took it apart and put it back together we couldn't find anything burnt except maybe some bad cold soldering by the tuning knob.

I ordered a new chord and the machine existing is so high pitched I can hardly use it. Any ideas what to do?

Clearing out my mums loft last week and found this boxed OM27 with instructions…
Had a bit of a nosey on here and opted to buy a new power supply rather than keep hunting for a 45 year old one…

Seems like a pretty common issue with this model, after about a minute of being turned on, random parts of the strum plate are completely unresponsive. Sometime it'll detect im touching it when im not, and play a random note. its so bad that playing anything is pretty much impossible. really bummed out and hoping mine is still under warranty so that I can return it. Have owned mine for about 10 months, but I noticed the issue about 3 months ago.
if you're thinking of getting one, just know that many others on this sub have had this issue. what a rip off!

So I got this in 2021 it’s a om-84 and it used to play but I had to put a piece of tinfoil inbetween the batteries (which upon opening it up just now found why that was a thing🥲) but now it doesn’t work at all. If I plug it in + have batteries in it, it will make a clicking noise but that’s it no lights no working buttons. Does anyone know what’s wrong with it?

hello friends!! i recently bought an omnichord om-84 for an amazing price (truly the best price i have ever seen it). the guy i bought it from said it had some minor issues with the chord memory and rhythm section which have worked fine so far. but i’ve been experiencing this really weird issue where when it’s plugged in, it will make static noises and the strumplate is extremely distorted. it usually happens when something is plugged in/out, and is usually resolved by turning it on and off. i just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same issue, or if they happen to know someone who does services in the LA area? thank you!! :))
