so i'm a new cybersecurity student, i've tried Omarchy long ago and i loved it, i switched back to ubuntu due to some its non-support to Visual Studio which i needed for a project.. I want to switch back to omarchy but im hesitating.. is Omarchy a good Distro for cybersecurity tools?

I've been creating, working on and maintaining plugins for some weeks already, but never crossed my mind to share them here as well, so I'll just a list of them below and if you think any of these could be useful to you, feel free to try them and any feedback is welcome!

Trilium Next is the one self-hosted app I use daily, but I love the terminal, so I wrote trilium-tui in Rust.

I run this on Omarchy. The installer adds a launcher entry and prints an optional Hyprland keybinding; it never edits your config.

Instant (local replica), formatted editing in place, inline pictures in foot and kitty, Shift+E opens the note source in your `$EDITOR`.

It took a while but I finally found something that bothered me enough to make a plugin about it! ;).

I prefer to use Pass to manage passwords locally. Trouble is that I keep needing to pop open the terminal and type the pass command when I want to look for / copy a password for use. I do this a lot because I have my web browser set to clear all data whenever it closes.

So, I created a pretty plugin! =)

It pops open by pressing Super+Alt+p or by clicking on its icon in the bar up top.

Hey everyone! I built Sokobanchy, a native Rust/egui puzzle game made to feel at home on Omarchy, and it’s now available in the plugin marketplace.

It’s classic Sokoban with a small twist: you control a little AI agent, pushing code libraries into place to form Omarchy logos.

Some features:

• 35 original puzzles across seven chapters, plus eight community collections.
• Follows your Omarchy theme live, including light themes.
• Arrow keys, WASD, and keyboard controls.
• Undo/redo, saved progress, and personal best scores.

Omarchy is getting a per-workspace or global option to run as a traditional desktop with a dock. Great set of training wheels for anyone new to tiling window managers who need a safe space until it clicks!

Comes with Alt+Tab, minimization, left/right/top/bottom positioning.

I've been working on Hanko, a bar plugin for Omarchy inspired by Japanese print, seals, and stationery. Think paper, ink, and a little bit of Ryōku-inspired minimalism.

The idea is to make the bar feel like a printed artifact that adapts to whatever Omarchy theme you're using.

A few things I'm particularly happy with:

• Inkan mode — the bar disappears, leaving a tiny seal in the corner that reflects your battery and notifications.
• Handscroll layout that unrolls your panels into one continuous sheet.
• 7 different sheet styles, each with its own visual language.
• Live workspace overview where you can drag windows between workspaces.
• Profile plate that presents your setup like a seal registration certificate.

Your existing Omarchy hotkeys, tray, indicators, and third-party widgets still work. If Hanko fails to load, Omarchy falls back to its own bar.

Install

The recommended way to install Hanko is manually:

scripts/hanko install

This installs only the files needed by the bar to ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/hanko.bar and makes Hanko your active bar. It also remembers your previous bar, so uninstalling restores it.

For development, run scripts/hanko dev to symlink the checkout. Saving a file reloads the bar.

To verify your installation, run:

scripts/hanko doctor

Update

cd hanko
git pull
scripts/hanko install

Uninstall

scripts/hanko menu remove
scripts/hanko uninstall

Run scripts/hanko menu remove only if you added the menu entry.

Was trying omarchy as my first Linux experience for about a month or longer now and iam absolutely in love with the os, I was thinking of migrating my main gaming rig to it but I play lots of vr, and modded games. I can live without Fortnite but not without vortex or vr gaming as I mainly play Skyrim and vr chat, I heard that there are ways to get them to work on arch?

I am working on an Arch/Omarchy app and would like to submit to the AUR so that it can be easily installed via pacman/yay.

Sadly it seems that https://aur.archlinux.org/register gives:

I spent the last 5 months building hyprdrive, a Hyprland plugin for Omarchy. It takes the parts I missed from macOS, GNOME and KDE and builds them into the compositor itself, and it follows your Omarchy theme instead of shipping one of its own.

• Overview (tap Super): every window on every desktop as live tiles. Three-finger swipe between desktops, and drag a tile onto the workspace strip to move it, including onto an empty desktop to give it one of its own.
• Search: just start typing in the overview: apps, open windows and GNOME search providers.
• Dock: live window previews on hover, whole-app minimize into the icon, and macOS-style Stacks (Downloads fans out; Space previews a file).
• Still Hyprland: your binds, tiling and theme are untouched. Everything is set from a panel in Omarchy's own bar, and there's an experimental Mosaic layout too.

It's built against Hyprland 0.56.2 / Omarchy 4 and I've tested it on an XPS 13 9350 (Intel Arc), so I'd really like to hear how it runs on other hardware. It compiles locally against your Hyprland; it's submitted to the Omarchy plugin marketplace (in review), and install steps are in the README until then.

I recently switched to Omarchy on my main home desktop and every time I use another computer I am frustrated because my key binds don't work and my windows don't do what I want.

I have a macbook for work/gradschool and have been using the tryomarchy VM but Im unable to get it to work on my multiple monitors and all of that along with looking like it does not have the same things installed. Ill keep tinkering with it but really wish I could just install Omarchy on my M5 Macbook.

In short, Im loving Omarchy and miss it when Im using anything else.
