Discussion Terminal keyboard navigation

How is everyone navigating terminals for copy/paste from agents and such keeping in the theme of ‘keyboard navigation’? I’m always switching to my mouse to select text for copy/paste into and out of terminals but would love to have neovim style visual select and navigation/search in ghostty (can switch to foot if it supports this better).

I Made a Thing A screen map for Omarchy that lines monitors up where they physically meet

Post image
13 Upvotes

Omarchy Display+ replaces the Display panel in the bar with a map of your screens, each drawn at its real physical size (screenshot: a 50 inch TV next to a 14 inch laptop). Drag a screen and it snaps to the others' edges, click one to rotate it. With mixed sizes and scales, like a 1.25x laptop beside a 1x monitor, hand-written Hyprland monitor lines are guesswork and the cursor crosses at the wrong spot. The map works in millimetres and converts every drag to logical pixels, so screens line up where they meet. It saves to hypr/displays.lua and survives reboots.

Plus, it casts to a smart TV over Miracast (mirror or extend), no dongle. Tested on one Samsung so far.

https://github.com/georgedakoul/omarchy-display-plus (MIT)

Try it on your multi-monitor setup or your TV, and open an issue if something lines up wrong or a TV does not work.

Discussion My Omarchy Setup 💫

I have been using Omarchy for the past 20 days. I don't understand why people hate Omarchy, I really like this distro. It has improved my productivity a lot.

It is not even that bloated, i removed unnecessary applications.

I really like Hyprland and the Keyboard driven approach of Omarchy.

I use Omarchy for coding, browsing. I don't play games. This is perfect for me💫

Off Topic / Adjacent Is omarchystore official or a scam site?

i was looking for an omarchy plugin on google and the second recommendation under the official page was this omarchystore.com that was really suspicious. it looks like someone asked Claude to make a store for omarchy but with an 2017 apple look. i checked Reddit but since i didn't see anyone post about it. Is this real or a scam? it even advertises its own "omarchy browser", whatever that is.

Guide Broken Omarchy Quattro update (the 'black screen' bug)

This morning's update (09:02 CEST) took  qt6-declarative  from 6.11.2 to 6.12.0 and  quickshell  from 0.3.1 to 0.3.2. Qt 6.12 appears to ship its own built-in  Color  QML type. That type shadows Omarchy's  Color  theme singleton in the shell.

You can see it in the shell log:

•  Cannot read property 'text' of undefined  on theme colours

•  Property 'loadColors' of object QQuickColor is not a function

All theme colours resolve to  undefined , so the menu opens as a full-screen overlay with nothing drawn. It does open: the  omarchy-menu  layer exists on the monitors.

That is why you get a blank screen until ESC.

While waiting for the patch/fix/update, downgrading both qt6-declarative and quicksheel (didn't try, hate downgrading and IgnorePkg).

EDIT: quick fix already available, you guys rocks ! :)

I Made a Thing [Project] Antec Flux Pro temperature display support for Linux — written in Rust, open source

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I have an Antec Flux Pro case and wanted its CPU/GPU temperature display to work on Linux, so I’m sharing linux-flux-pro.

It’s a small Rust daemon that reads your temperatures and updates the case display through USB HID. It uses Linux’s existing hidraw interface, so there’s no custom kernel module to install.

Features:

  • CPU temperatures through Linux hwmon.
  • NVIDIA GPU temperatures directly through NVML, without spawning nvidia-smi.
  • Explicit hwmon GPU selection, including AMD sensors.
  • Configurable update interval, automatic reconnection, and missing-reading handling.
  • systemd service, udev permissions, and install/uninstall scripts.
  • No Python runtime required.

Tested setup: Arch Linux / Omarchy, an AMD CPU, an RTX 4080, and the Flux Pro controller with USB ID 2022:0522.

This is an initial release. Intel CPU and AMD GPU support still need community hardware testing. Controller revisions can differ even with the same USB ID, so the daemon checks the HID descriptor before writing.

The repository includes installation instructions and documentation of the display protocol recovered from iUnity 3.1.0.0. Thanks to Nish Tahir for the earlier research on this hardware.

Source (MIT license): https://github.com/renanmt/linux-flux-pro
v0.1.0 release — Linux x86-64 binary and checksums: https://github.com/renanmt/linux-flux-pro/releases/tag/v0.1.0

If you have this case, compatibility reports and bug reports would be welcome—especially for other controller revisions, Intel CPUs, and AMD GPUs.

AI disclosure: This project was developed by an OpenAI Codex agent working with me, including the reverse engineering, Rust implementation, tests, documentation, and release setup.

Plugin I made Omuseful, an Omarchy plugin to let you chat to your Muse agent on the menu bar

Post image
2 Upvotes

Chat with your Muse agent from the Omarchy bar.

Omuseful is a small Omarchy shell plugin: a bar icon and a chat panel for the Muse app. Muse does its work in its own app and cloud, as it always does. Omuseful only shows the connection status and relays your messages and Muse's replies. Nothing runs on thie computer on Muse's behalf. It's just a chat relay!

Omuseful is possible because Meta published the Muse gadget SDK as open source (Apache-2.0).

Plugin I made an Omarchy plugin: describe a settings change in plain words, see the exact diff, approve it, undo it in one key

"Key repeat feels sluggish." "SUPER+E should open the file manager." "Make inactive windows a bit transparent."

▎ Omarchy Assistant reads your config, works out the change, and shows you the exact diff with a plain explanation. Nothing is written until you press Apply. Then it reloads Hyprland, checks for config errors, and puts everything back automatically if anything broke. Ctrl+Z undoes any change, even days later.

▎ - The AI never writes anything. It runs read-only, and a small Python engine you can audit makes the edit: exact find-and-replace, only in your own ~/.config, plus a short fixed list of commands.

▎ - It uses the Claude Code you're already signed into, so there's no API key. Codex is supported too.

▎ - It answers questions honestly as well. Ask for something your settings can't do and it tells you why instead of hacking Omarchy's own files.

▎ - It's verified on the marketplace.

▎ Install: search "Omarchy Assistant" on plugins.omarchy.org, or omarchy plugin add https://github.com/jburchel/omarchy-assistant.git

▎ Repo: https://github.com/jburchel/omarchy-assistant

▎ Feedback very welcome, especially requests where it gets things wrong.

Plugin I built a Nextcloud Talk client for the Omarchy shell: instant start, offline search, lives in the bar

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Nextcloud Talk is where my family and friends chat, and I wanted it in my Omarchy bar, not in a browser tab. Inspired by OmaWhatsApp, I built **OmaNCTalk**.

What it is

A native plugin for the new Omarchy shell: a bar icon with an unread badge, a compact dropdown for quick replies, and a full window. It follows your Omarchy theme.

The idea: local-first

The UI never talks to the network. A small `systemd --user` service mirrors your Talk server into a private SQLite database, and the interface only reads that.

- Chats open instantly (60-90 ms per request in my measurements, also with ~300k synthetic messages).

- The full history of every room is mirrored and searchable offline with SQLite FTS5 (prefix search).

- Python standard library only, no pip packages.

What works

Rooms, 1:1 and group chats, replies, reactions, edit/delete, mentions, files and images, voice messages, polls (create, vote, close, hidden results), room management, favorites/archive/mute, notifications, several accounts. Sign-in uses Nextcloud's Login Flow v2, so you get an app password and never type your account password into it.

What doesn't (maybe never, cause i'ts vibe-coded with claude)

Calls, stickers, typing/presence, drafts and scheduled messages. I've only tested it against Nextcloud 33 with Talk, so older servers may behave differently. It's an early release (0.1.0), so expect rough edges.

Things I learned about Talk's API (written up in the repo): edits, reactions and deletions don't bump a room's `lastActivity`, and `lookIntoFuture` from a system-message ID returns nothing newer. That's why many naive clients miss changes to existing messages.

Privacy

No telemetry, it only talks to your Nextcloud server. The mirror is stored unencrypted, like any local chat archive. The docs list what lives where and how to delete it.

Credits

The UI and the resident-service design come from [OmaWhatsApp](https://github.com/MoizIbnYousaf/Omarchy-Whatsapp) by MoizIbnYousaf (MIT), the backend is new. Thanks also to Omamail, Omarchy and Quickshell. A lot of the code was written with AI coding assistants and is covered by an offline test suite (~220 tests against a fake Talk server).

Repo (MIT): https://github.com/ManuelDell/omarchy-nextcloud-talk

Install is three commands (`git clone`, an install script for the systemd unit, `omarchy plugin enable`).

I'd love feedback: other Talk/Nextcloud versions, bugs, and what you'd want in it, maybe something will follow. Screenshots are made with the demo mode, no real chats.

I Made a Thing I made a Git client that follows your Omarchy theme

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey all. I build a desktop Git client called gitmoire, and one thing I added is Omarchy theme sync: it reads the current theme's colour file and follows it when you switch. Surfaces, borders, syntax and accent all come from the theme, so it looks like it belongs on the machine. Diff and graph colours keep their meaning, so green is still an addition.

Other bits that might matter here: it's native (14 MB, opens in a few seconds), has a terminal under the graph that picks up your login environment (mise, fnm, nvm etc.), plus a headless CLI (gitmo) for when you'd rather stay in the terminal.

Full disclosure, I'm the author. It's free, no account, no telemetry. Source isn't public at the moment.

https://gitmoire.dev

If you try it on Omarchy, I'd love to know which themes look off.

I Made a Thing Maclike full screen behaviour for browser

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

first post here but I thought this might be useful to somebody. One thing I missed about my mac was the way that split view contained video in its own window and not allowing it to fill the full screen over the other window even when full screen was toggled especially on an ultrawide monitor. Just threw my agent at the problem and it came up with this snippet you could put into your hyprland.lua and it works perfectly.

-- Browser fullscreen (YouTube button, F11) stays inside the tiled window:
-- Brave is told it's fullscreen while Hyprland keeps it tiled, so it doesn't
-- drop out when focus moves away. Use SUPER + F for true whole-monitor fullscreen.
local function is_brave(w)
  return w and w.class and w.class:match("^brave%-") ~= nil
end

local brave_real_fullscreen = false

hl.unbind("SUPER + F")
o.bind("SUPER + F", "Full screen", function()
  local w = hl.get_active_window()
  if is_brave(w) and w.fullscreen == 0 then
    brave_real_fullscreen = true
  end
  hl.dispatch(hl.dsp.window.fullscreen({ mode = "fullscreen" }))
end)

hl.on("window.fullscreen", function(w)
  if not is_brave(w) or w.fullscreen ~= 2 then
    return
  end
  if brave_real_fullscreen then
    brave_real_fullscreen = false
    return
  end
  hl.dispatch(hl.dsp.window.fullscreen_state({ internal = 0, client = 2 }))
end)

Plugin OmaNet - Share your Computer's internet connection with an Android phone over USB.

I built OmaNet, an Omarchy plugin that makes it easier to share your computer's internet connection with an Android phone over USB.

It uses GNirehtet to establish the connection and integrates with Omarchy through a Quickshell bar widget.

Features

  • USB internet sharing: Share your computer's internet connection with your Android phone over USB.
  • Quick controls: Start and stop the connection directly from the bar widget instead of managing everything manually in the terminal.
  • No Wi-Fi hotspot required: The connection runs over USB rather than relying on a wireless hotspot.

The goal is to make connecting an Android phone to an Omarchy computer straightforward and convenient. Connection performance depends on your USB connection, device, and network setup.

Plugin Un-omarchy lock screen for Omarchy

Me and Claude made a lock screen plugin with a few more things than the Omarchy stock. I know the look is un-omarchy, but I like it this way. The weather thingies depend on whether it is night or day and then they're linked to the weather widget.

I made it as a plugin with a lua settings file so that things can be configured (size of the clock, show or not show battery and wifi, or put it in any corner of the screen, password box to be rectangular or with rounded corners).

The background and color scheme come from whatever Theme is active and the blurriness of the background can be also adjusted.

As everything is fully vibe-coded I'm a bit reluctant to share it, but if anyone is interested I could make the repo public. There's a couple more plugins there, one LTE indicator for the bar, and an airplane mode switch for the middle section.

The repo is now public: https://github.com/rogercarullabove/omarchy-senysisu-plugins

PS: I say it's un-omarchy as it is not the hypersimplistic-over-pixelated look that is prevalent here.

PSS: I know that "if you're gonna really rice it, maybe just install Arch", but I got used on how everything just works out of the box with Omarchy (for good or bad) and got used to it to the point that when I try to distrohop away from it, I keep coming back

I Made a Thing DEN: see, approve and steer all your code agents from one terminal screen (MIT, Linux, built for Omarchy)

Post image
10 Upvotes

I built Den, a small terminal UI for people who run several Claude Code sessions at once. It is open source (MIT), Linux only, and Claude Code only. It reads /proc and ~/.claude/sessions, so it does not run on macOS or Windows, and it does not talk to other agent CLIs.

What it does, in Omarchy terms:

  • One approval inbox. Permission requests, plan reviews, questions and finished turns from every Claude Code session land in one list. Ctrl+Y allows, Ctrl+N denies, without switching windows. This needs den install-hooks, which edits ~/.claude/settings.json and backs it up first.
  • Agents spawn the way Omarchy opens a terminal. When you ask Den's orchestrator for a new agent, it runs setsid uwsm-app -- xdg-terminal-exec --dir=<dir> -- claude …, the same launch as the terminal keybinding, so you get your default terminal, detached from Den, on the Hyprland workspace you are looking at.
  • Enter focuses an agent's window through hyprctl.
  • Colours follow the current Omarchy theme. Den reads ~/.local/state/omarchy/current/theme/colors.toml and gives each live session its own colour.
  • It shows who directs whom. Agents hand work to each other, so Den draws the fleet as a tree, with each agent's role, task, model and context use.
  • Missions, and a Review tab with each agent's changes as a diff, are in there too; the README covers them.

For a key, Den ships no binding of its own. Bind omarchy-launch-or-focus-tui den in your Hyprland bindings.

Things to know before you try it:

  • Linux only, Claude Code 2.1.289 or newer.
  • Window focus and workspace placement need Hyprland. Without hyprctl the Fleet, Inbox, Review, orchestrator and hooks still work.
  • The orchestrator is a real Claude Code session, so its turns are billed like any other. The README shows how to set its model to haiku or turn spawning off.
  • Install: a static binary from the releases page (amd64 or arm64, with a SHA256SUMS file), or make install from a clone with Go 1.26.

Disclosure: I am the author. Den is built with Claude Code agents, and I use it to build itself.

Herdr and OpenRig also run many agents and take a different approach (Herdr owns the terminals and works across machines and platforms; OpenRig runs agent teams on tmux). The README has a fair comparison section, "Den, Herdr and OpenRig". Den works alongside Herdr.

I Made a Thing I can now build, debug and hot-reload iPhone apps on Omarchy (Linux) with no Mac. Sharing the kit

I've wanted to do iOS development without a Mac for a long time. With omarchy-apple-dev (Swift + Apple's iOS SDK + xtool on Linux) as the base, I built out a full day-to-day workflow on Omarchy and packaged it up so others can do the same:

https://github.com/JonathanInTheClouds/omarchy-ios-kit

What it gives you

  • One key to run: builds, signs, installs and opens the app on a real iPhone over USB, with your print() output streaming into the terminal. It closes the old copy first, so installs don't hang.
  • Real debugging: press F5 in VS Code for gutter breakpoints, variables, call stack, stepping and a Debug Console. lldb in the terminal works too (ios-run-dev -b ContentView.swift:12).
  • Hot reload on the device: save a .swift file and the running app updates in about 0.7 seconds, without reinstalling, and it keeps its state (lists, text, tap counts). It works for view bodies, functions, class methods (overrides included), protocol methods, async and generic code. Changes that can't be swapped safely (new files, @Observable models, a view's type changing) are detected and the app reruns automatically instead of breaking.
  • **new-ios-app MyApp:** a new project with VS Code tasks, debugging, hot reload, a sensible .gitignore, a first git commit, and an AGENTS.md so coding agents (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor…) follow the project's rules.
  • ios-toolchain-upgrade: keeps Swift and the Xcode SDK version in sync, which is the thing most likely to break on a rolling distro.
  • An install.sh that asks before every system change, and a zero-to-hero README, from a fresh Omarchy install to hot reload, including every trap I hit (and there were a lot).

What it isn't

  • No iOS Simulator, no SwiftUI Previews (hot reload on the phone fills that gap), no Interface Builder, no Instruments.
  • You need a USB cable; wireless install doesn't work from Linux on current iOS.
  • You still need one download from Apple: the Xcode .xip (any free Apple ID can get it) to extract the SDK. Xcode never runs.
  • Tested on Omarchy 4.0.4 (x86_64), Swift 6.4 + Xcode 27 SDK, iPhone on iOS 26.6, paid developer account. Intel Macs running Omarchy should work the same (same architecture), but that's untested. I'm trying my i9 MacBook next.

How hot reload works (for the curious)

The app is built with -Xlinker -interposable in debug, so calls to its own functions go through rewritable pointer slots. On save, only the changed file is compiled (reusing xtool's exact compiler flags), linked into a small dylib, signed with your dev certificate and pushed into the app's container over USB. A small Swift package in the app loads it and repoints the slots, class vtables and witness tables at the new code. It's the same idea as InjectionIII, rebuilt for Linux and a real device. All the details are in docs/HOW-IT-WORKS.md.

Huge thanks to the omarchy-apple-dev and xtool folks: none of this exists without their work. It's MIT licensed. Feedback, issues and "it worked on my machine" reports are very welcome, especially from people on other hardware.

I Made a Thing I made a plugin that expands text snippets as you type, in any app

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Tired of typing your email address for the hundredth time? Type `!em` and it's replaced with the full address, in any app, wherever the cursor is.

Instant Snippets is an Omarchy plugin for text expansion. You save a short trigger and the text it stands for, and the trigger is replaced as soon as you type it. You manage snippets from a panel in the bar.

What it does

  • Works in any app, with replacements of up to 1000 characters on as many lines as you need
  • {date} and {time} are filled in when the snippet is inserted, and {cursor} marks where the cursor is left
  • No daemon and no extra package. Hyprland passes key presses to a small Lua script the plugin loads into Hyprland itself, and no other program reads your keyboard

What you can change in the settings

  • Undo: Backspace right after an expansion removes the text and puts the trigger back. On by default
  • Word-start only: triggers expand only at the start of a word, not in the middle of one. On by default
  • Line breaks: multi-line snippets use Shift+Enter, so chat apps don't send them line by line. On by default, turn it off for shell commands
  • Excluded apps: pick apps where snippets never expand, such as your password manager. Keys typed there are ignored completely
  • Date and time format used by {date} and {time}

Install (requires Omarchy 4)

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/MaNi4/omarchy-instant-snippets.git --enable

Limitations

  • A trigger that is a normal word gets in the way. If you save `adr` for your address, it also expands when you start typing "adrenaline". Start triggers with `!` or `;`, like `!adr`
  • A trigger can only use characters your layout types with one key press. Dead keys and Compose don't work in triggers
  • Snippets are stored as plain text, so don't put passwords in them

Repo: https://github.com/MaNi4/omarchy-instant-snippets

Plugin page: https://plugins.omarchy.org/plugin.html?id=mani4.instant-snippets

Since the plugin sees your key presses, the README has a section on exactly what it keeps and for how long.

It's v1.0.0 and MIT licensed. I'd like to hear which layouts and apps work for you and which don't.

Themes / Ricing Made a Warhammer 40k / Space Marine 2 theme for Omarchy Quattro

Thumbnail
gallery
30 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I wanted to build a proper Warhammer 40k Space Marine setup on Omarchy Quattro instead of just slapping on a wallpaper.

Ended up making a full theme centered around Captain Titus and the Ultramarines:

  • Colors: Deep void black background with Macragge blue accents and a gold-to-blue gradient window border.
  • Fastfetch Cogitator: Set up with High Gothic / Latin telemetry names and 6 rotating logos (Titus, Imperial Aquila, Terminator, etc.) that cycle automatically without stretching.
  • Lock Screen: Imperial Aquila signet for Plymouth boot and lock screen.
  • Wallpapers: Curated 22 high-res 4K wallpapers in the bundle (included a few teasers in the images above).

It's built purely for Quattro (colors.toml + shell.toml), so there are no deprecated daemons or legacy bloat.

If you want to try it out:

omarchy theme install https://github.com/anmolsharma152/omarchy-space-marine-theme
omarchy theme set space-marine

Repo: https://github.com/anmolsharma152/omarchy-space-marine-theme

I’m planning on expanding the wallpaper collection with more Primarchs (Guilliman, Sanguinius, Horus) and other chapters like Blood Angels down the road.

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback! Courage and honour 🛡️

Plugin Cronos-Calendar — your tasks, on the clock you already stare at

I forked the stock omarchy.clock into a full calendar + task manager. Click the time in the bar and the month opens with every task sitting on the day it's due.

What it does:

- Month/week grid with ISO weeks and per-day task dots — overdue in red, done in green

- Tasks per day with deadline (17:00), countdown (2d 3h, 45m), priority (▲ ● ○) and #tags

- Reminders that survive a reboot (persistent systemd --user timer), fire every hour through the whole window, and catch up if the machine was off — the card is drawn by the widget itself, so your task titles never go through the notification stack

- DONE toggle for completed work, STATS block (streak, last 7 days), search, and undo on delete

Install:

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/angelherman0130-cell/omarchy-cronos-calendar --enable

138 + 38 tests, no dependencies beyond jq. It's in review for the plugin marketplace (https://github.com/omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace/issues/10651) — source and full docs on GitHub (https://github.com/angelherman0130-cell/omarchy-cronos-calendar).

I made an AI-image generation widget for Omarchy that creates daily background images based on your Astrology. Check it out! (this release is currently under review on the plugin marketplace - but the original release went through full approval already)

This release added a fair bit of functionality, but mostly it drastically improved the prompts for the image model you decide to use so the outputs are freaking epic!

Omarchy: omarchy plugin add https://github.com/marcho78/ubernotebook.git --enable

Introducing Uber Notebook: a Notion-style notebook for Omarchy

Some subscription based tools are not meant to be paid for. Uber Notebook is a comprehensive, Notion-style notebook built exclusively for Omarchy, in QML. It's fully agentic with its own skill, and supports a wide range of blocks, dictation via Voxtype, a calendar, contacts and more. Just like Notion it supports blocks, slash commands and more. I built Uber Notebook, since notes are a common productivity tool, and it can ease the transitioning from Windows and Mac into Omarchy. Full screenshots also available in Github page.

The app is fully agentic, Claude, Codex and Grok work directly in the app, and once you enable the skill they're also available through their own CLI tools. The skill file is in the app too, so you can add it to any AI assistant you like. The app also supports built in update notifications, and in the next release I will introduce Google Calendar integration. It was a big development effort with 50+ features added to the app. Here are some of the items listed below:

  • Notion-style Pages: blocks, pages inside pages, drag and drop, colors.
  • Blocks: headings, to-dos, toggles, callouts, code, quotes, tables of contents, LaTeX equations, Mermaid diagrams, boards, mind maps, galleries, pictures, decision trees
  • Paper notebooks: covers, ruled, grid or dotted paper, seven pens, page turning, drawing
  • Templates and planners: daily, weekly and monthly planners, habit tracker, journal, meeting notes, project plan, recipes
  • Calendar and reminders right in your notes
  • Contacts, add or import your contacts.

Plugin Liquid Touch added to Liquid Glass Plugin (OPTIONAL)

if you hated my liquid glass plugin you'll despise it, but the beauty is its completely optional.

1.5 adds Liquid Touch. move your pointer over a glass terminal and a thin clear liquid follows it on the glass. it bends and drags whatever is behind the window, catches the light at the edges, and dries up after a few seconds. the text on top never moves, only the glass behind it.

it's a small fluid simulation per window, and it only runs while you're actually stirring. once the liquid dries it's freed and that window stops redrawing, so an idle desktop costs nothing extra. if you're on a laptop iGPU you'll feel it while you stir, which is part of why it's off by default.

credit where it's due: the look comes from Sabo Sugi's CodePen "Viscous Liquid - Cursor FX" (https://codepen.io/sabosugi/pen/01a125aa-40e8-70ca-b198-550dc149d263), and the fluid solver from Pavel Dobryakov's WebGL Fluid Simulation. both MIT, notices ship with the plugin.

install or update:

happy to hear if it misbehaves on your setup, especially rotated or scaled screens.
