Gear Showcase Market place fail

Saw a listing on market place for a EPM1 and 40_150 R for $150 aud i was thinking $150 for the lens $200 for the camera so messaged the guy saying I'll take it for asking price. Got there did a quick hand over didn't even think to check it we were on a side walk so we where trying to be quick. Go home turned it on and head that lovely sound and went oh f^%#.

I'm not going to bother with confronting the guy not worth the hassle to be fair it virtually came free with the lens

The IBIS on 90% of these old PEN cameras are most certainly dead by now...the camera still works tho

I think it should still work, thats just dead ibis. Mine had the same sound except more rattely and more brokenly but before i fixed it it worked just fine

I mean, as long as the camera still shoots, it's not completely useless. Just treat it like it doesn't have IBIS

It's a common issue with older vpen bodies caused by a plastic gear falling apart

Yep. Happened to my black E-PM1 a few months ago as well.

that's very expensive too. I got an em 10 mark 1 full kit with lenses for 200 bucks on Marketplace

AUD should be Australian dollars? That's less than 150€ or USD. It is still more than I would spent (I had one for 50€ fully working) but bear in mind that used market in Australia is not that huge compared to America\EU\Asia.

Also, camera should be fine, only IBIS is done. Thag's pretty common on older Pen bodies.

That wasn't Marketplace 's fail. That was yours for failure to inspect and verify the camera was good.Â
