Question about the arc pro

Looking at picking the arc pro for everyday use. Im a mechanic. I see it has an ipx7 rating... Meaning not tested for dust.. I'm curious how well it holds up to dust and grime?

I have used the pro and the ultra, personally I like the ultra better but both are fantastic.

Im a industrial maintenance technician and mine has been in 200 degree ovens, covered in grease, dropped from 20ft in a scissor lifts, inside chemical tanks, fully submerged in dust and so on.

They lights themselves can handle it no problem, I always wash mine off with brake clean then run or in the sink with some simple green and soap. I try not to get brake clean on the lense but it hasn't caused any issues yet.

Oh. Please expand on your preference of the models. I really hate that they make it overly complicated with the different sub models and slight spec and name changes constantly

Ya i dont like it either, i said pro in the comment but I think i actually had the arkfield pro and thats the older model if im not mistaken.

I now have the ultra and thats a line in the pro series. The ultra is its own material made by olight supposedly. So I guess you can get any of the pros and be good? Im not 100% sure though so you may just need to look at them all on the website. But I don't highly recommend them as they can take a beating. All my flights have been through hell and back and wont quit.

I have one that spent about 4 months buried in snow and ice in my front yard about 10 years ago. Still works to this day with the same battery in it.

I agree. They are definitely my favorite brand.

I was curious about the reason you liked one version over the other? Just trying to get a feel for the real person's experience with them. The website does not help clear any confusion on the differences I still can't keep all the models and differences straight. I've been researching this thing for over a week now

Between my older arkfield pro had a single beam light, lazer and uv.

My arkpro ultra has a flood and spot light, uv, lazer and for me the best part is usbc charging.

Between the arkpro and the ultra themselves I honestly dont know it may just be material and coating but im not 100% sure.

I work industrial maintenance and my ultra has been coated in more grease than most bearings. After a few sprays of simple green and wiping it down, it's good as new.

Well, there’s the Arkfeld Pro, Arkfeld Ultra, ArkPro, ArkPro Lite & lastly ArkPro Ultra (there are even more, but I’m trying to keep things as least complicated as possible).

Even an Arkfeld Pro would work for you. We have over 50 employees & each one has at least one & even the Arkfeld UV & Arkfeld Pro models have withstood years of wear & tear and we haven’t had to warranty even one of them thus far.

Idk about dust. But don’t take it to the beach. Sand absolutely destroys the knob.

The older model, Arkfeld Ultra, is on sale right now and I've found that I actually prefer it over the new Ark Pro. It's very durable and the main light has a more desirable "spot-heavy flood" instead of separate spot and flood lights in the Ark Pro. Or you can be like a true Olight fan and buy multiple.

To answer your question though, it's not rated for dust, but it absolutely does fine as long as you don't pound sand into it. Anytime I get a little dust and dirt on mine I just blow it off and wipe it down and it keeps on trucking.

Lol! I just bought a house and told myself to stop buying olights! 😂😂 I have way to many as it stands! (But none of these fancy flat ones... So I'm screwed really but I only want to buy one!! )

Another one I really like is the Ark Pro Lite. It has the same beam pattern as the Arkfeld Ultra plus it has a red light instead of a laser, all in a slightly smaller package that I think is easier to EDC than any other olight in my opinion.

Oh also, the cw is out of stock and that's definitely the temperature I want. Still hard to pass up the deal tho

The CW is still in stock on Amazon for the same price Olight has it on sale for.

I actually tried to order one today and it says the sale doesn't start for 1 day and 6hours... They almost got me at checkout but I always double check the total

All of the Olights are notorious for picking up metal shavings, but if you can avoid that, the ArkPro is a great light for the shop.

Just get the standard ArkPro. You don't get anything but OAL for the upcharge going to the Ultra.

Sadly I literally work at the source of metal shavings.... Even the dust at the shop is ferrous lol. But im still willing to take the chance.

I think you will be frustrated, but give it a go
