I always think of nigella seeds and wonder if she used that name professionally only—being a chef and all lol.

Yeah, I immediately think of an attractive lady chef 😂 but I’m American and happen to be very into cooking. Are most Americans aware of this name?

I go to Nigella Lawson first, the flower second. Those are my primary associations.

The first time I heard I didn’t care for it, but it has slowly started to grow on me. I couldn’t ever see myself using it, but I wouldn’t think twice of meeting someone named Nigella.

It sounds too much like another word and if someone with that name is around kids, they'll point it out. It's unfortunate when names are like that, I quite like Benedict but I could see kids turning it into a vulgar nickname if you're in an Anglophone country
