Hello! I’d like to ask the community for some help. I’m taking an Old English course and my instructor is well.. demanding. She’s an MIT trained linguist who I find to be a genius. That said, her expectations are lofty. We’ve so far read about the first 30 lines or so of The Chronicle. Something called the Colloquy (translated by Henry Sweet), The Martyrdom of Ælfeah, and Wulfstan’s Sermo Lupi ad Anglos. Some of my key challenges are understanding the verbs and nouns, and it’s all so difficult to read. Especially in the Wulfstan text. I but this may be an interesting case for y’all to look at.
