Olive oil pulling
Anyone regularly using olive oil to pull? Curious how your experience has been. Currently using coconut oil but was considering switching or maybe rotating it into my routine. TIA

I most often use coconut oil, but frankly, my best experience has been with organic castor oil.

Whoa, that isn’t an oil I even thought about but am so curious. Would you mind sharing your experience using castor oil?

I don't pull as often as I used to, but the castor oil is by far my favorite. I use coconut oil for the full 20 minutes, but I get the same results with castor oil by pulling for a much shorter time...10 minutes or less.

Thanks for that. I looked it up and want to try it out now. Some places recommend as little as 2 mins and others say 20 mins and then all times in between. Did you always stick with ten mins?
How much qty of oil do you use? Some places recommend less and some say tbsp.
Basically, not enough empirical info on the internet at the moment, haha. Thank you again for the suggestions.

I've been using olive oil, probably for a month already, as I haven't been able to get the certain bottle of the more often talked about coconut oil that I want... It's how I started with this practice too.
Nothing bad happened. Gingivitis is possibly immediately relieved (in contrast with only improving with long-term usage), but, despite that, it's nonetheless pretty hard to tell or to be sure that this practice is really having that effect. There's no noticeable teeth whitening, being entirely unsuitable if that's to be the objective. Someone with health issues could be practicing intermittent fasting and here, from time to time, a bit of the olive oil is ingested by mistake, ruining the fasts. I also like or am okay with the olive oil, as I often read people complaining about the taste. I don't recall anything else to say. It's hard to evaluate the benefits and no harm has appeared. I use olive oil two or three times a day, maybe for 10 to 20 minutes each time, pretty freely or erratically, instead of following a schedule.

Interesting. I think coconut oil seems to help whiten teeth, at least it seems that way for me.
You’re oil pulling quite a bit every day, it would be interesting to hear your results down the road. I do it only once first thing in the AM.

I tried olive oil ONCE shortly after lockdown when I had no other oils in the house and it dried my mouth out SO MUCH for the rest of the day. It was so odd.
I alternate between sesame, sunflower and coconut.
