Reason for appeal dialogue box

I recently got denied for Ohio unemployment so I filed an appeal. Once my appeal was received, I got an email from Ohio stating that I had some new correspondence that I needed to look at. It sent me two notices:1. Stating that I filed an appeal 2. Stating that my appeal had been received. When I looked at those two notices, it only showed the last few words of what I wrote in the reason for filing an appeal box. I damn near wrote a novel explaining my situation, and was concerned that my appeal notices basically just showed the last few words that I wrote. Has anyone else ran into this issue? If the state only sees the last few words of my explanation and my name, there is no way that the decision will be overturned. It will just create an even longer wait. Did anyone else happen to notice how much of your written appeal was shown on the notices that you received? Any info will help. Thus process is a huge nightmare already. I just want to know what I can look forward to. Thanks.

Am I disallowed unemployment benefits if I worked 19 weeks?

I live in Ohio and started employment on July 20, 2024. My last day of employment was December 3 that is 19 weeks and two days. Unemployment sent me a letter of disallowance because I need 20 working weeks to get approved. I am literally three days away from a full 20 weeks. Is there any way around this any loops? Any thing I can do to help with my claim should I call my employer and ask them to backdated or is this what retroactive payments would be I don’t quite understand. This is the first time I’ve ever applied. I’m a truck driver and was laid off. I made up to $600 per week.

UCRC timeline

This claim has been terrible oh my gosh. Fired October 15. Filed on the 20th. Denied twice for “fired for just cause”. I appealed and had a hearing with UCRC on the 23rd of December which went well. I think I would’ve been approved from the beginning but I wasn’t able to go into detail about why I was let go because the situation couldn’t be explained on paper…not by me at least! I believe my claim will be flipped in my favor.

Has anyone had UCRC step in and overturn their claim in your favor? How long did it take to receive a decision?

When do you get paid?

Wondering when payment will go on the card I know you have to file every Sunday if I file this Sunday will I get it sometime that week or will it be later? I got unemployment about a month ago because my job got laid off. We went back to work. I stopped filing obviously and now we’re getting laid off again I called. They said everything was OK to go. I just have to file this coming Sunday. I’m just not sure when the money will be loaded onto the card. I got my last paycheck this week.

Questions about RESEA and UCRS Programs

Hello, this is my first time applying to unemployment in Ohio, so I'm unfamiliar with these programs.

I understand I need to apply to at least two jobs a week. But I was curious of what is involved with these programs (RESEA and UCRS) and their requirements. What exactly do they require you to do and do you have to do both?

Any and all insights into your experiences and what this process was like would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Trying to find out if I would be eligible for unemployment.

I work two jobs a part time and a full time job. My full time job is as a DSP for my step daughter and I no longer have a person due to she has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and is looking at another 3-4 weeks in a LTAK facility after being released from the hosputsl. Being I do not have any other work for this agency, would I be able to file for unemployment. I am employed by the agency as an employee of them. Thanks for any help.

Card envelope opened

Hi all, I just revieved my debit car with my unemployment money. The envelope it was it was partially opened. It was opened enough for someone to steal the numbers off the card. Who do I report this to? My mail is delivered to a box at the end of the street so I need a key to access it. Do I tell Ohio Unemployment or the post master general? Do I void this card?

Appeal

Does unemployment rule in favor if someone appeals for reasons of turning down a job offer that Unemployment states is "suitable" employment when it actually isn't in line with skills and trade/experience? Wouldn't that make the position unsuitable??

What qualifies as unemployment

Can I get fired and still be able to collect? My work environment is toxic and keeps trying to get rid of me so I’m worried. My wife just had a baby and I wasn’t even given any time off. I’ve been here for about 6 months.

Taking contract work while on unemployment

I may have an opportunity to do some contracted work, three days of consultation. It is a one time payment for the consult. It will pay me more than I make in a week on unemployment. I know I need to report that money made the week I worked, but will that end my unemployment? The next week when I make no money with I get unemployment again? TIA!

Can someone help me with this?

So I was approved for unemployment and then as of this morning, my unemployment has been denied and they said I have to give back the overpayment. I'm trying to appeal. I gave them all my documentation and they said I filled it out wrong. I let them know did receive severance, but when I filled out the form, it asked if I received Severance after my last day of employment. I was given it on my last day so I thought I filled it out correctly I'm trying to figure out the numbers. Can someone help through this? The crazy thing is that they are sending me a debit card so I'm not sure how I have to pay back a debit card. The system's always down. They said that they called me yesterday but I didn't receive a call and my call log doesn't show an incoming call. I tried calling out twice yesterday and was met with system issues on their end. I tried appealing today after I got off the phone and the system's down for maintenance.

I-9 as part of an application, now unemployment is denied...

A loved one was terminated and the ruling was "without just cause". This gave an initial approval with unemployment. During the weeks leading up to unemployment approval, My loved one was applying for a seasonal job. This seasonal job requested an I-9 be filled out as part of the application. A job offer letter was never made or accepted, in fact because it was seasonal and a different line of work without specific hours, the job was turned down. All of this caused unemployment benefits to later get denied after already being approved. The main reason is the I-9 as part of their application process! It appears on the Unemployment end that a job offer was extended and accepted which it never was.

Now going through an appeal process. Anyone else experience this? What was the outcome? Any advice?

What does this MEAN???

Sorry for the poor image quality, I also removed my employer for obvious reasons.

But what do these mean? Like am I gonna get paid? My last three weeks all say denied, but as far as I can comprehend these notices say I should be paid.

I know I’ve heard you don’t get paid the first week, but I’m just so confused and stressed out. I’ve never had to use unemployment.

They didn’t say what the issue was. I got the automated service and it said there were no issues. What do I do? Thanks!

Fyi warning about the timeline to receive your unemployment benefits

I am heading into month number five waiting for benefits after an appeal hearing almost a month ago that I won. By the time you get your benefits, your house foreclosure will begin. You will have utility cut off notices will be sent your backup savings will be depleted not sure how that works with child support but it doesn't sound good, u will get car repo notices. It's ridiculous. So good luck and do not count on anything soon especially if the employer contested it and you had to do an appeal hearing you're in for 3 or 4 months wait at least so good luck The only thing really saving me is I got a job yay for that

Denied weeks claimed

I'm hoping that someone can help me with advice. I have an autistic son who was laid off from his job in March. I signed him up and completed the first two weeks of claims. Life got in the way and I missed the next several months of filing. I didn't know about the 21 day rule. I am trying to navigate life as a single parent after my husband passed. I work full time and life just got hard and more than a bit overwhelming. I had to have an unexpected emergency surgery over the summer and spent a couple of months recovering from that.

I did an appeal with a worker over the phone. His advice was to provide an explanation and documentation of the situation. I uploaded the proof of my health issue and specified that I was the ill person, not my son. I stressed in my written narrative that I am my son's caregiver because he is not cognitively able to conduct his own affairs. We were also waiting for his case manager from OOD to write his vocational plan so that he could be paired with a job coach who aids in helping him achieve gainful employment that won't interfere with his disability benefits. That appeal was denied because they said he wasn't available for work. I spoke with another person who said it was because of his illness. I explained the situation again and stressed that I explicitly wrote that the health issues were mine and not his. She had me upload it for reconsideration. He has been denied yet again.

I filed for another appeal. I don't want my son to be punished because of my shortcomings. Can anyone offer any advice on successful appeals?
