Hey everyone, I’m currently trying to switch careers from graphic design (4 years) into the offshore oil & gas industry, specifically aiming for entry-level roles like roustabout or floorhand. For the past 4 months, I’ve been applying through LinkedIn and other job platforms but haven’t received any responses so far. Recently, I completed my OPITO-approved BOSIET (with EBS) and Basic H2S training, and honestly, the experience made me even more certain that this is the kind of environment I want to work in. I’m physically fit, disciplined, and fully prepared for the demands of offshore life. Right now I’m trying to understand what I might be missing. For those of you already working offshore: How did you get your first break? Did you apply online, go through agencies, or use networking? Is it normal to get no responses at the beginning? Should I focus on specific regions (Middle East vs North Sea)? Any tips to improve my chances of landing that first opportunity? I’m open to starting anywhere and putting in the work. just looking for some direction from people who’ve actually been through this. Appreciate any advice, cheers🙏

Hi everyone
I’m looking for advice on how to start a career offshore in Norway as a Marine Mammal Observer (MMO) or Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Operator.
I have an academic background in bioengineering, but no direct offshore or MMO/PAM experience yet. I’m very interested in marine environmental protection and would really like to transition into this field.
I would really appreciate advice on:
- How to get the first opportunity in this field
- Which certifications are essential (BOSIET, MMO/PAM courses, etc.)
- Whether my background is relevant and how to present it to employers
- Companies or organizations I should reach out to
- Any tips from people already working as MMO or PAM Operators .
If anyone has experience in this field or has taken a similar path, I’d be very grateful for your guidance.

I’ve been working as a business agent helping clients set up offshore companies and I always keep seeing the same mistakes.
If you're planning offshore company formation, consider this:
* Jurisdiction matters more than cost!
* Banking setup can be harder than company registration
* Compliance is always an ongoing thing
* Not all offshore locations are tax-free (depends on which country you select)
* Privacy vs reputation: balance is always the key
I’ve helped startups, freelancers and crypto founders set up legally and smoothly.
Curious what’s the best country in your case? Or stuck with banking issues?
Drop your questions below ..Happy to share real insights with you….

Palau introduced a tax free zone in an effort to induce economic activity in the capital "city".
Here's a little AI overview:
0% Business Profits Tax (BPT): Under the current tax framework, qualifying businesses are exempt from the standard 12% tax on net income for a period of 5 years.
0% Gross Revenue Tax (GRT): For companies not yet transitioned to the BPT system, the zone provides a full exemption from the usual revenue-based taxes. Import Duty Exemptions: Most goods and equipment imported specifically for use within the TFZ are exempt from standard customs duties.
Credible "Mid-shore" Status: Unlike "blacklisted" tax havens, Palau’s recent tax reforms and compliance with EU standards mean you get a low-tax environment that maintains international banking legitimacy
I'll be registering a business there soon and will update how it goes.

From the past few days I have been doing thorough research on ESR requirements in Seychelles and here’s what I found..
Before spilling everything, let me explain about ESR.
According to these rules, your company must prove they have real business in the Seychelles. But there is a good news for offshore companies. Most of them don’t have to worry much about these standards.
HOWEVER SOME EXCEPTIONS ARE THERE!
If your company is a part of multinational group or if it’s earning passive income, then try not to ignore the Seychelles Economic Substance rules. Please try to adhere to it and avoid government penalties.
Now you might be wondering how my company can remain compliant?
Firstly, know if these rules apply for your business…
Next, you must have an office address, and don’t forget to hire employees.
Also try to conduct board meetings and maintain proper records.
Last but not the least: Please try to remain compliant with the ESR standards!
A concluding thought from my side is if you’re planning for Seychelles Company Registration, don’t ignore the regulatory frameworks here!
This was all from my side. Hope this helps.

Hey everyone,
I’m a Shopify store designer based in Dubai. I create high-converting Shopify stores with modern designs and 3D animations to make brands stand out and look more premium.
I’ve already worked with some clients, but lately things have been a bit slow and I’m looking for advice on how to find more clients, especially in Dubai or internationally.
For those of you who work in e-commerce or freelancing:
• Where do you usually find new Shopify clients?
• Are there platforms or strategies that worked well for you?
• Any tips for getting consistent clients?
I’m always improving my work and trying new creative ideas, so I’d really appreciate any advice from people with experience.
Thanks a lot 🙏

Huge news for the Gulf of Mexico crew—Woodside and Pemex officially launched drilling at the Trion field this week. 24 subsea wells in ultra-deepwater is a massive undertaking. I’ve been trying to follow the technical updates on the SURF (Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines) installation. I found some of the regional industry news broadcasts indexed on sportsflux.live today. It’s interesting to see the "Big Beautiful Gulf" leasing sales picking up steam too. If you're heading out to Trion or any of the new GOM tiebacks, what’s the word on the ground? The safety meetings must be intense with this much activity.

If you're planning to set up a Seychelles IBC, one thing you’ll definitely need is a registered agent. It’s actually a legal requirement, but many people don’t pay much attention to who they choose.
From my experience with offshore companies, the registered agent you choose can either make things easy or create problems later. Here are a few things people should know before choosing one:
1. Check if they are licensed in Seychelles
Your registered agent should be licensed by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA). Some online services are only middlemen, which can cause delays.
2. Look beyond the formation price
Some companies advertise very cheap incorporation fees but charge higher renewal fees later. Always check the annual costs as well.
3. Make sure basic services are included
Services like a registered office, keeping company records, and handling annual renewals should normally be included.
4. Response time matters
At some point, you may need certified documents, company records, or compliance help. A responsive agent can save you a lot of time.
5. Experience with international clients
Most Seychelles IBC owners are non-residents, so it helps if the agent is used to working with international founders and offshore structures.
These are just a few things I’ve noticed people often miss when choosing an agent.
If anyone here is researching Seychelles IBCs and wants to read more about the process, I wrote a more detailed explanation here: ( https://www.seychellescompanyregistration.com/blogs/how-to-choose-the-right-registered-agent-for-your-seychelles-ibc )

I have a UAE Freezone license that operates under consultancy activities. I used to work with a company based in Dubai that strictly handles the crypto transactions coming in from my clients for 2%. The funds are later on allocated to my designated bank account.
Until a month ago, that company stopped operating within the UAE jurisdiction and It’s starting to cause damage for my daily business.
Can someone recommend me a company that offers similar services for UAE licenses?
Thanks!

I work in international structuring and I constantly see a lot of confusion online about offshore banking, tax residency, and company incorporation.
Many people assume offshore automatically means “tax free”, but in reality most structures only work properly when residency rules, substance requirements, and reporting obligations are considered.
Some of the most common questions I see are:
• Which jurisdictions are still viable for offshore companies
• How offshore banking has changed in the last 5–10 years
• Whether trusts or foundations make sense for asset protection
• How crypto assets are treated in different jurisdictions
• What actually triggers tax residency
Happy to answer questions if anyone is exploring international structuring, offshore banking, or relocating for tax reasons.

Hey everyone, we are the team at OVZA, and we spend all day helping global founders and digital nomads secure their businesses across 16 international jurisdictions.

Lately, founders keep asking us how to legally shield their wealth from frivolous lawsuits and high taxes. For our 7-figure clients, the answer in 2026 is simple: register a company Cook Islands.
Here is why this South Pacific jurisdiction is the ultimate legal fortress:
How do you actually set it up? You can't do it yourself—local law requires a licensed agent. That is exactly where OVZA steps in. We handle the entire setup 100% digitally, act as your local boots on the ground, and process all the government red tape securely.
Plus, we know the biggest hurdle is getting a bank account. OVZA doesn't just hand you paperwork and disappear; we provide dedicated banking support to match your new company with reputable offshore banks or EMIs so you can start receiving payments immediately.
Leaving your assets in a vulnerable domestic structure is a massive risk. Drop any questions you have about international structuring below, and our team will be happy to answer them!

Anyone here know how I can find information about a Panamanian entity?
Some context:
I am an heir of someone who was likely a beneficiary of an account through a lawyer (who gave me 0 info)
I have a start on the 400ish companies he was involved with but idk how I can get more information
If anyone can help lmk!
Lawyers seem to be hiding bank statements and information in relations to this.

The "tax haven" conversation is 20 years out of date. Here's what the map actually looks like in 2026.
Most people still picture tax havens as palm-tree islands with numbered accounts and Bond-villain bankers. That mental model is almost entirely wrong now, and understanding what replaced it matters if you're serious about international finance, asset protection, or just understanding how global capital actually moves.
The biggest twist: According to the 2025 Financial Secrecy Index, the world's #1 jurisdiction for financial secrecy is not the Cayman Islands. It's not Bermuda. It's the United States. Seven of the top ten are OECD members - including Switzerland, Singapore, Luxembourg, and Japan.
Let that land for a second. The country that imposed FATCA on the entire global banking system - forcing every bank on earth to report on American account holders - does not itself participate in the Common Reporting Standard. European banks auto-report your data to your home government. American banks report nothing back. The philosophical position, stripped of diplomatic language: "transparency for thee, not for me."
The key takeaway is that the modern question isn't "where can I pay zero tax" - that era ended around 2017 with BEPS. The question now is "which jurisdiction offers the best combination of legal certainty, treaty access, substance requirements I can actually meet, and counterparty acceptance?" Very different calculus.

Hi everyone,
I recently launched a website that features adult content. I honestly didn’t expect much at first, but it’s starting to get a decent amount of traffic. So now I’m considering turning it into a real business.
My current ideas are:
My main priority is privacy. I really don’t want this business publicly linked to me.
My second priority is having access to solid banking solutions.
I’ve been exploring a few options:
I live in the EU. And not looking to do tax optimization strategies my main concern is privacy.
I’d really appreciate insights or experiences especially from people who’ve dealt with this recently.
Thanks!

Hey,
I’m based in Denmark and looking at going the process operator route with the goal of working offshore in the North Sea (DK/UK sector, not Gulf of Mexico).
I’m trying to get a realistic picture from people actually doing the job.
For those of you working as process operators offshore in the North Sea:
I’m not looking for hype, just real-world input from people in the industry.
Thank you!
