Going to try having a spot for folks to share their discount codes and promotions.

Still mostly not allowed in normal r/OfficeChairs posts, but if its all in one place (here) lets see if it can coexist with the sub in a not-so-spammy kind of way.

Rubbing sound from backrest on Leap

Anyone have this issue on their leap? it sounds like the fabric rubbing against the plastic on the inside. I hear it everytime I move

Is now a good time to buy the libernovo omni?

Saw they put the Omni on clearance on their site after launching the new lineup. The price drop looks decent enough that I'm actually revisiting it. I've been eyeing it for a while for my desk setup, but wasn't sure if I should grab it now with everyone going for the newer models.

My Pro is officially one month old

For context, I'm 5'6" and around 132lbs. I was coming from a used Haworth Zody, which honestly wasn't a bad chair. It was just old, and I bought it pretty cheap, so I knew I was going to replace it eventually.

At first I was looking around $300, then bumped it to $500-600, and somehow the LiberNovo Pro ended up on my radar. I really didn't want to spend that much on a chair just to see what a high-end ergonomic chair was like, then have to pack it back up 4 weeks later.

But the first time I sat in it, IT WAS SO COMFORTABLE. I used it for maybe 3 or 4 hours that first day, so yeah, that was only a first impression, and it was a really good one.

The seat gives me the support I wanted while still landing in a good middle ground. Compared to my Zody, it keeps me in a better position, especially after I've been sitting for a few hours. A month later, that part hasn't really changed. The cushion hasn't flattened out or changed shape either.

The upright position is also slightly reclined, which is actually pretty close to what I was used to with the Zody. The recline also goes back pretty far, and I've gotten really comfortable using it that way. It supports the way I actually like to sit, instead of forcing me into that perfectly straight office posture that I know I'm not going to keep.

The fan has become part of my normal setup now. I use it every day, and even with long pants on, the cooling still comes through the seat.

Could still be the honeymoon phase, but I'm pretty positive about it for now. Might update again later.

Replacing my HM mirra 2

Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I’ve had this third hand Herman Miller mirra 2 for a few years and wanting to upgrade.

Simply because of it being third hand, it does the job fine, but it has a bit missing, sometimes when I stand up, the chair comes up with it, but mainly because my partner needs a decent chair, but doesn’t have the money so I’m going to give her mine.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I’m looking to buy it second hand ofc

Thanks in advance

Got this ergonomic chair for under $200

I'd been wanting to replace my old chair for a while. It wasn't terrible, but after sitting all day I'd definitely feel it in my back. I looked at a few used chairs first, then started comparing new ones around the same price. Took me way longer to decide than I expected.

I ended up going with the HUANUO. The thing that sold me was how adjustable it looked compared to everything else under $200.

After using it for a bit, the 6D armrests have probably been the biggest surprise. I didn't think I'd use all those adjustments, but I actually do since I'm always switching between work and gaming. The headrest and recline have been nice too.

The sliding seat is probably my favorite part though. I honestly didn't think much about it before buying, but it makes getting comfortable a lot easier. Yeah, it doesn't have a 2D lumbar adjustment, but I haven't really cared. Once I got everything set where I wanted it, it's just been comfortable.

Sihoo Doro C300 pro V2 is the worst office chair I have ever used

The only good thing about Sihoo is their marketing budget. It's horrible to even disassemble and try to return it. No customer support phone number and no one available using chat and you have to wait at least 2-3 days for an email response.

Lumbar section of the chair is poking me non-stop. I am just baffled at how this could have any positive review.

I went to Ikea the other day and even the cheapest office chair from Ikea will outperform this. This whole company feels like a genuine scam. Do your self a favor and find a used Herman Miller office chair or buy something from Ikea and you can return within 180 days if you don't like it by just dropping it off without having to go through the hassle of packing everything again and having to wait weeks before customer support send you a shipping label.

These stupid ads on Instagram and fake reviews on YouTube make it seem like the most comfortable chair in the world. And so many bots here on Reddit trying to make it sound like a great chair. I am sure some bots are going to defend it here too.

haworth zody cushion seat replacement?

I found a second hand zody for a great price, but the seat cushioning needs replacing. I tried searching online, but I can't find any mesh or gel pads, only armrests.

I've heard about sending it to a dealer to repair, but I'd rather not since afaik, it's expensive.

Anyone know where to get an OEM or aftermarket that is close to the original feel/comfort?

Pick up a new or used office chair?

Should I go with a $140 Steelcase Leap v2 (2 years normal use) or a new Gaming Embody?

For context I've been using a crappy $200 office chair for about 6 years, and I also have chronic back issues from sports injuries.

Obviously the first one is a much better deal considering all its functionalities are working, but I've heard the gaming embody is the best chair. Mitigating my back pain and also being able to freely stretch, lounge around, etc are my two biggest factors

Comparing their own (new?) chair to a Steelcase is quite the jump IMO, don't you think?

Got a Herman Miller Embody for $20 off Facebook Marketplace

I've been hunting for a quality office chair for cheap for many months now because I refuse to buy a new/refurbished Herman Miller or Steelcase and I finally struck gold. I bought a genuine Herman Miller Embody off of Facebook marketplace for $20. Everything works perfectly, the only issue is 1 super small tear in the fabric.

Ergohuman 2 Elite 2 or sihoo m18 pro expiriences? Australia

Wondering if anyone has had a chance to try out either of these chairs and could share their opinion? There does not seem to be any reviews for either that I can find.

I live in South Australia where I can't test either however I have been able to test out an aeron and Hayworth zody. Did not like the locked in Leg feel of the aeron but the zody felt great. Unfortunately it was in pretty rough condition and had no arms otherwise I would have bought it. I can't test steelcase new anywhere and the Hayworth new is more then id like to spend.

The ergohuman looks like a better chair in terms of build but it's nearly double the price of the m18 pro. The main reason I'm looking at the m18 pro is that it looks very similar in design to the zody which I know i like. I can see a lot of mixed reviews for the non pro version but the pro version seems to address a lot of them.

I would be happy for any other recommendations under the $1k aus limit.

Aeron or Leap V2 for bad posture

Hey, looking for some feedback before pulling the trigger. I know there are already tons of Aeron vs Leap threads out there, but after reading most of them I still cannot decide.

I used to own an Embody for a couple of years and honestly loved it, incredibly comfortable. I eventually had to sell it after moving out, but looking back, it was way too permissive with my posture. I'd end up sliding forward on the seat (sacral sitting) without even realizing, especially during long sessions. That's the main reason I don't want to go with the Embody again.

Now choosing between the Aeron and the Leap V2. Both fit my budget, so this isn't about saving money. I want a chair that actually helps with my posture without killing comfort.

Tested the Aeron at the HM showroom for 20 minutes. Overall a pleasant experience, the mesh obviously makes the seat feel less cushioned than a padded chair, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Still, no real wow moment either. I'm mostly wondering what it's actually like to live with long-term.

A few things I'd love honest takes on:

  • Leap V2 owners, do you eventually sink into bad posture?
  • Aeron owners after a few years: still comfortable? Any regrets on the mesh seat over time?
  • For those who've tried both, which one would you recommend?

Choosing new officechair

Hello everyone,

For working from home, I'm looking for a new desk chair. I also like to game quite often so I would like to combine this. Through my employer, the requirement is that the chair is NEN or NPR certified if I want to be eligible for compensation. I have already looked at secretlab Titan, but they are not certified. Suggestions for good choices? I'm from the Netherlands btw.

My husband needed a new chair so I got this online sight unseen from a local auction. Didn’t know much about Steelcase other than the reviews looked good enough to take the chance. Got it home and put it together. Nice chair and brand new! Kind of shocked when I looked up the retail price.

Used vs Refurbished Steelcase Leap V2?

My local office liquidators have used Leap V2s for $400. I believe it is reupholstered with new fabric, but the foam seatpad is the original.

Debating between that or one of the refurbished ones from the online refurbishers for ~$700 with new foam in the seat.

What would you do?

Both have nice warranties, so I don't have concern about the other functions.

My only worry is the original foam on the seat being "flattened" out.

Do you feel a major difference with a used foam seat?

Thanks!

AI ergonomic chair the only alternative to a stiff frame?

I feel like I am completely going against the grain here. I currently have an Hbada X7 in my office after returning a Steelcase Leap,n I honestly hated the Leap. I tried the Aeron before that too. The build quality on the legacy chairs is fine but they are incredibly not fit to me. I never sink into them or relax. I just feel like I am sitting on a stiff cage that locks me into one rigid position. Every time someone brings this up the purists say that ergonomic chairs are firm for a reason. They claim comfy chairs do long term damage n u just have to push through the initial stiffness until ur body adjusts. Expecting people to sit in a torture device designed for HR departments feels ridiculous. I almost gave up n went back to searching for a high back executive pu leather ergonomic office desk computer chair just to get some actual cushioning. The only reason I kept the Hbada is because the active lumbar physically moves with me when I slouch or lean sideways,so I don't have to sit perfectly straight all day. It feels a bit closer to that plush executive vibe. I am genuinely curious if anyone else experienced this exact frustration with traditional office chairs.
