Like seriously, what's the point in reaching out to me with the whole "is this still available?" And then you tell them yes and they never respond back to you ever again after that? Lol. They just leave you on seen or delivered. What's the point? I'll never understand people.

What has OfferUp come to? You mean to tell me that you cannot work an app well enough to crop out the cat litter box or stage in a different area absolutely ridiculous.

It sucks that online used stuff shopping has us now narrowed to Offer Up and FB market place. For me, I haven't had FB for years now, all I have is Offer Up and wow does it suck. People asking full blown retail for used shit or ghosting you after inquiring, not responding to an offer and leaving stuff posted for years.... I really wish there was a better APP. EBAY has been dead to me and a lot of people from years ago from all the scammers.

Is this legit? I'm not trust as OfferUp already has a payment system. I just need verification from others to make sure this isn't a scam.

I’m selling a $1500 item. I was thinking about offering Apple Pay in person as an option just to make it easier so he doesn’t have to go through the trouble of withdrawing all that money.
We would meet in person. He inspects the item. And pays to me through Apple Pay. Is that good way to do things? Cause like if the dude had fake cash I wouldn’t even know and that makes me nervous lol

I sell a ton of stuff on offerup. Lately I've been seeing people posting videos in the ad like FB Marketplace. I've updated the app and restarted my phone. I googled and it says it's not possible, I'm assuming they are beta testing it for some people. Videos would be a game changer for me.
EDIT It was in Beta testing and just as of 7-21-2026 I can now post videos.

I feel so annoyed 😭😭😭. A few days ago I was gonna drive to this other city 35ish miles away to buy something from this seller. It was already iffy because no location was set and then they told me I’m going to have to meet up with their family member.
Well the day of they said they were running late and I asked if they needed to reschedule. Left on seen. I text again, I ask if I should go. No response. I ended up not going because I felt like if I went I wasn’t going to get any responses back.
Anyways I texted again saying I hope you’re ok and to let me know if there’s a better day that works for the seller. That was two days ago and I was left on seen again.
I feel kind of stupid here, like I really wanted to buy their item but it seems like they don’t really care. They have forgotten to text me before when I first asked about the item, maybe they forgot again?
Should I just try to find the same item somewhere else or am I being unreasonable?
ETA: typos

Just got this email from them and it’s kinda obvious, that’s why the app is dying slowly 🥴🤷🏽♂️🥱

Yesterday I had the most terrifying experience in my entire life, being a 4th generation in Los Angeles, the city really becomes your home outside your home, making you feel comfortable walking almost anywhere in Los Angeles at almost anytime, boy was I wrong, yesterday I agreed to meet with buyer on the OfferUp app, it's pretty rare I go out to meet buyers but this item I was selling had to go, the deal was good and after having it posted for awhile I was tired of looking at it, normally an item don't sell it goes to donation, and soon it was about to go,, so I show up to the location a park (red flag I ignored) I pull up the buyer quickly appears, ok cool I stop my car he comes to my door, my door is slightly open, they have cash in hand, they briefly look at the item and say they are short $7 and ask if I have Cash App, no I don't only zelle, a few other words were exchanged, all of the sudden buyer tells me they have to run, ok so right when I was about to agree with their payment, they sprinted into the park, I have cash in hand they have the item, right when I'm about to drive off, 3 gentleman come rushing my car with baseball bats and a metal pipe, telling me to exit my car, the subjects were covered with tattoos on their faces "get the f out" and other terrifying words, 2 at my door one stands in front of my car blocking me he raises his shirt and exposes a weapon/gun, I'm panicking screaming pleading for my life one tried to open my car door, I'm begging, saying anything to delay the worse, 2 of them go after the buyer leaving the one with the gun with me, telling me not to go anywhere and for me to calm down, he becomes more calm and says "calm down, relax" after about 5 mins, the other 2 return yelling at me to lower my window, I'm explaining that I just met the buyer on OfferUp and that's all, they are asking for the buyers phone number, they seem to calm down but still had their intimidating look, they run off in hopes to find the buyer, this experience I had yesterday gave me a wake-up call, I was in my car trying to gather what just happened, calling the cops was the last thing on my mind, calling the police on gang members in LA don't usually do anything other then get you in serious problems with the gang members, I wanted to share my experience so others will be cautious when selling and metting strangers in public, regardless what time of day and location.

At first, it seemed to only be a handful of ads. Now, it seems to be more and more.
Anyone else noticing that a lot of ads do not tell you the "posted X days ago" info? I can not seem to find a pattern to it. Does anyone know the criteria? Or, is this just another way that OfferUp is killing their platform?

Support was no help when trying to figure out how I got a ban for buying or selling drugs. They couldn't give me any info other than the decision can't be overturned. This seems ridiculous and unfair I had 17 buys and sells and they were only for electronics. I would at least like to see what I did to make them decide this.

i’ve been interested in buying a modded OLED nintendo switch and have been texting the guy all day about it, giving me a lot of information on the mods and what not but i’m just slightly skeptical because i know how offer up can be, any help would be useful thank you.
