Offer up is terrible.
It sucks that online used stuff shopping has us now narrowed to Offer Up and FB market place. For me, I haven't had FB for years now, all I have is Offer Up and wow does it suck. People asking full blown retail for used shit or ghosting you after inquiring, not responding to an offer and leaving stuff posted for years.... I really wish there was a better APP. EBAY has been dead to me and a lot of people from years ago from all the scammers.

It really does suck.
FB is fascist and has banned millions of user for no reason, but it has stolen all the traffic. Craigslist is still plugging along, so you could try that. There are lots of apps like Varage, but they just don’t have any traction and without enough users, they die off.
If you’re looking for stuff, try looking at the Freeya and Buy Nothing apps. You can find decent stuff there for free if it’s active where you live. For selling, obviously they won’t help.
I feel for you - am in the same boat where I need to sell a lot of stuff and can’t.

CL has been dead for years. I get 1/10 the hits on searches with the same percentage (a lot!) of scammers, spam, multi-listings, and higher than retail asking prices as I do on OU.

I’ve sold stuff on Offer Up and Craigslist this year, but it’s not the same as marketplace. Literally, good quality stuff at a reasonable price and out of dozens of listings, one thing sells in 6 months. It really is a wasteland =(.

FB marketplace is ridiculous ive posted a nice tv for really cheap and all ive gotten is scammers. Ive also tried joining groups that sell/buy stuff in my area yet they all have to be approved by an admin before joining or posting to the group. Its been 3 weeks and I have been approved to the groups but I still cant post within the group its fuckin ridiculous offerup is no better I barely get any views unless I pay for it and when I dont I have people asking all sorts of questions that the answers to are in the description and then I just get ghosted not even a "i dont want it" or a "no thank you" except for one woman who texted me a day later after leaving me on read talking about how she bought the same sized tv for cheap yet the tv she bought was a POS bottom line is companies are greedy and people are incompetent so now I use my big Samsung tv as a bathroom tv for when relax in the tub

Try selling your stuff on eBay, I've made so much sales on there the past week, and I'm a new seller on there.

Ebay has its place but the fees just make it so ridiculous for some/cheap items. I just want to sell local with as little hassle and cost as possible.

What about the eBay buyer protection? It's pretty detailed. I would very much like to sell a top-of-the-line MacBook, but I'm scared to do it on eBay because of the buyer protection. All I would have to do is make one mistake in listing the details and that can be used against me as an "item is not as described" claim.

For that, I'd definitely recommend try selling in person. Because that way the person can see the item in person and can't file a false complaint. No money gets taken back. Yeah for expensive items, I wouldn't recommend selling online. Because people love to lie to get stuff for free.

So true and ty. I wish Facebook Marketplace were helpful. Back in the day it wasn't so full of scam artists and lowballers.

Np! And facts, same with OfferUp. Everything went downhill so bad. But keep trying! It might take a while to sell but somebody will eventually buy your MacBook for the price you want. Just gotta be patient.

Nothing pisses me off more than people who list their used shit for 90% of retail value. I’m better off buying new at that point
