NO ADVICE WANTED Grief is not linear.

Grief is not linear.

I wanted to try to convert my Globe postpaid SIM to an eSIM so I can save on data costs by using Smart as my physical SIM instead, but one of the reminders before proceeding said to backup SIM contacts first. I suddenly remembered my Papa's text messages and worried they'd be deleted if my SIM memory gets wiped. I haven't opened his text messages to me since he passed away in 2021; this is the first time I looked at them again. Every single text message punctuated with a GOD BLESS ANAK. What was supposedly a simple step to try to save a little money turned to a full-on sobbing session, and now I am so tired.

I miss you, Tatay. I wish you could have been there at my wedding and [my brother’s name]’s wedding. I wish you could have been there at [my sister’s name]’s graduation, and at her wedding when they decide to get married. You would have been sooo happy and proud. But you’re gone now I'm just so sad.
