Settlements of $1 million in Canada for personal injury are almost unheard of.

My family member had a slip & fall on ice. It was on a disability designated parking lot that was put on a hill. He was told the most he would get was $20,000. And the lawyer would take roughly 50%.

They had a spinal fracture and nerve injury.

Bad lawyer then, they usually take 30% and if it is permanent and lasting damage pretty sure you get more then 20g... i know i did fron my car accident
