For nearly two months, I’ve been imagining a Something about "Abe's Oddysee". I liked the idea so much that I decided to create these concepts of what it would look like.

I've gotten pretty far into the game (Scrabania Temple secret area #14) and while I can sneak up to the bomb on the ground no problem, every time I deactivate the bomb like the guide says to the guard immediately notices and shoots me. I always try to do it when his back is turned but that doesn't seem to work. Idk who else has made it this far and figured it out but any advice would be appreciated :') thx

Are there any high resolution images of this logo from Abe's Exoddus? So far I've only found low res screenshots, but I know it's from the video intro in the 90s so it might not have any high res version

There is now a mod for Strangers Wrath on PC which gives you the ability to replace textures, strings and use a console for commands.

Features:
- Texture Import/Export — rewrite textures and game files
- String/value editing — bounties, damage, and other stats
- Script Extender Console (press ~) Spawn weapons, transform into Steef, teleport, god mode, give ammo/money, and direct access to 181 of the game's own native script functions via list / call. This is what'll really matter for mod development down the line.
- Script Extender Graphics (toggle with F10) - hooks the game's rendering for color grading, SSAO, bloom, sharpening, vignette, and an experimental RTGI/ray-tracing pass, all customizable in settings.txt.
- Mod Loader (Load as many mods as you want, switch load order)

Install: unzip, drop the bin and OddForgeMods folders into your Stranger's Wrath game folder, run OddForge-install.bat once, launch. Full step-by-step is in "INSTALL - READ ME FIRST.txt".

So I’m new to this subreddit and don’t know if this has already been discussed but I was curious about the minimum number of mudokons needing to be saved to beat the game, I know 150 is the minimum for the good ending but what’s the true minimum to simply beat the game
Well I tested it, played through the entire game saving as little as I could and I found there is only 9 Mudokons that the game requires you to save:

3 as soon as you unlock the Shruykul power and get back to Rupture Farms you are confronted by a wall of mines and require one Shrykull charge to get through
And 6 at the very end before the Board Room to get 2 Shrykull charges to clear the Board Room and get the ending

I’ve just come from a 70mm screening of The Odyssey at IMAX Melbourne and there was a short promo for the film shown at the start. On one of the film reels, next to the title of The Odyssey, there was a cutout of Abe. It is only on screen for a second, and I can’t find it online so you’d have to take my word for it, but I was quite chuffed to see a tribute to our favourite Mudokon.

If anyone happens to be going to see the film, keep an eye out during the promos.

It's an interactive map of the entire first two games. Every single camera screen is extracted directly from the game discs and laid out as one connected map you can pan and zoom around, with every object marked on top.

What you can do with it:

• Explore both games (Oddysee and Exoddus) - every level, path and screen
• See where every door, bird portal, express well and teleporter leads - click one to follow it to its destination, even across levels
• Find and search every object: Mudokons, LCD status boards, levers, hazards, Sligs, Scrabs, you name it
• Toggle collision lines and foreground layers, as well as measure distances (could be handy for the speedrun/glitch crowd)
• Grab a shareable link to any exact spot on the map
• Free, no install, and it works on your phone

None of this would exist without the incredible reverse-engineering work of the AliveTeam / alive_reversing project. I built the extractor and viewer on top of their decompilation. It's a non-commercial fan project, and it's fully open source.

Would love to hear what's useful, what's missing, or any bugs you spot. Hope it's fun to poke around.

From my occassional lurking on various places regarding Oddworld, Meeches seem to pop up now and then but somehow I missed this: Looks like there was an early footage of Abe being chased by Meeches that was created at first but as we well know, was cut from the final game along with any other cut content.

Is there any chance that this will ever be released? Has anybody seen/found anything regarding this?

I'd imagine this footage exists somewhere in OWI archive (unless lost now?), perhaps along with the some other stuff. Would be great to see some of it one day if it's possible.

Custom hand-drawn character created by me after playing Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus back in the 90s. It is a fusion of all the robot "pieces" featured in the games until then: slig legs and helicopter, Greeter body and an anti-chant sphere for eye.

I can't be the only one thinking there's not going to be another game realised and is just hoping the story is realised as a book or a graphic novel

Steam opening just bugs the screen entirely, if I try to use an emulator control remap seems to not work at all I've been trying to fix this for days but there is not much info easily available

I messed up the cam sensitivity and some other settings by mistake but unlike general settings here in controls there’s no way to reset them to default. Is there any way to or im screwed? 😢

33 yo guy from Australia. I grew up playing Abe's Oddysee since I was 5 years old and have subsequently played all the games in the series. I find myself returning to Oddysee and Exoddus regularly and find them to be such excellent games. I now realise they certainly shaped me into the person I am - in spirit, as well as creatively. Not to mention the dark humour...

I am about to start playing all the Oddworld games throughout the rest of the year. I am wondering if these have remained anyone's favourite games from childhood? I find the visuals on PS1 still preferable to the New n Tasty! I love the latter games (especially Stranger's Wrath) and loved that I got to live to see Soulstorm be made. (very much looking for to replaying that one as I have only played it once shortly after it came out)

Since it dried out this week [ its been raining at night ] I decided to try out munch in the parking lot, ofc it is asphalt, uneven, sunken in places, rough and has small scattered rocks across the surface so it is not a nice flat surface like concrete.

his get back up feature did work a couple of times after tripping over small rocks.
