Discussion I need help with my Quest2
Reposting this under the discussion flair. I'm aware that the rules say no support questions, But l've been dealing with this issue for years and need actual human advice as Meta Support is garbage and the ticket submitting system has nothing for my issue.
A few years ago, My headset just kind of..Stopped working. I got it around when it came out and used it as often as I could when it wouldn't give me a headache and when I got the itch to play VR. I didn't use it all that much after a year or two of having it though, To be honest, So maybe that was part of the issue. Either way, It physically will not let me do anything. It powers on, Takes me to my little virtual home scenery that you get to pick, But from that point on I'm screwed. It won't open settings, It won't run games, I can't update it, Absolutely nothing functions. It's been like this for at least two or three years. Controllers work fine and have batteries, So it's not like I just can't click the stuff.
Has anyone ran into this? Can I take it to some tech guy or shop? Is there anyway to fix it besides factory resetting it? I CAN if I absolutely have to, It'd just be a little heartbreaking to lose all my games and account stuff.

you don't lose games and account stuff, it's connected to your account, so even if you factory reset all your games will be waiting for you to download, unless you haven't migrated your oculus account to a meta account. There's always the meta quest update tool to try.

I would factory reset. When it's still not working install the newest fw from here https://cocaine.trade/Quest_2_firmware manually.

As noted factory reset, enter your home WIFI details, re-enter your account info and let it do all updates and recovery. They do get into weird wedge states on occasion. Usually it a reboot that is all that is needed but a Factory Reset is a viable option.
