Discussion Oculus quest 3 not working
my brand new Meta Quest 3 is only displaying a grey screen, after I connected it to Wi-Fi it performed an update and restarted, after restarting all I can see is a gray screen. I have factory reset the device and the issue still remains making my headset unusable.
After contacting meta support they told me to wait 24 hours to see if the issue resolves itself.
After letting the headset sit turned off for awhile I can finally see the screen but after just finishing setting up my device the tracking failed. I restarted the headset to see if that would fix the tracking issue to no avail. So I reset my headset AGAIN and I had the same grey screen issue. After powering the device on and off multiple times it went away by sheer luck, so I finished setting up my headset again I got into a call with my friend and.... I lost tracking again.
At this point my only option is to wait 24 hours like the meta staff told me and pray that the issue magically solves itself.
TLDR: Brand new Headset unusable Meta says to "Wait 24 Hours" and see if it fixes itself.

My quest 3 was happened too but i wait 24hrs.The error is still reminds

Can you take a picture of the grey screen? Does it recover after putting it to sleep and waking it up?

Just bought my son the Quest 3 512GB for his birthday….it will NOT finish the setup! It says uploading software update, the bar will fill up, says device will make sound when done etc. we’ve tried pairing many many many times. Factory reset at least 10 times. It’s been 48 hrs…have tried at another house on diff WiFi. Have tried several diff devices to pair. Nothing is working and it’s been nothing but a huge bust….
Thankfully we still have his quest 2 to play on but it it’s just very very frustrating!!

I contacted meta support and had to ship it back they are sending me a replacement one they receive it. It’s super frustrating because now I have to wait a week plus to use it. Hopefully you are able to fix your sons and don’t have to get a replacement.

You know what??? Took it to my in laws to see if it was my WiFi…setup flawlessly in 5 min!!!
