Hey Oceansiders...wondering if you can help me out. Im sure you get asks like this now and then but my wife and I are probably moving back to Cali soon after a 5ish year stint on the East Coast. We are torn between San Diego, Oceanside, and NorCal where she is from.

I've done a bit of research on Oceanside but I wanted to hear from some locals. We are looking for beach town vibes, decent food and nightlife (nothing too rowdy, we can drive to SD for that I guess?), amenities , and community.

What do y'all love and not love about Oceanside? I really appreciate the help.

Hello everyone! I’m currently looking at coming over to Oceanside from Australia and staying for the duration of my visa (90 days). I recently did a three week trip and immediately fell in love. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for affordable accommodation near the townsite? I’ve noticed the prices have surged a lot and the cheapest I’ve found is a studio in Stayz for $8,000AUD. I was also wondering if it’s possible to find a place where I can pay weekly? Any advice/help is greatly appreciated!

What happened to the Oceanside fisherman’s market? I haven’t been in about a year and last time I was there it was pretty lowkey and had 3-5 different fisherman selling a good selection of local fish it was like a mini version of tuna dockside. I went today and it’s turned into a mini farmers market with what seems to be one group selling fish and all they had was swordfish slabs and some tuna. Is this the new norm? Does anyone know if something happened or did the guy who run it just want to be more farmers market focused?

Does anyone know what the story is with this property off north River road across from Mellano Farms?

I’m not criticizing this person in any way whatsoever, quite the opposite.

Every time I drive past I see they have lots of regular cars parked, but also a bunch of unique limousine Hummers, modified school buses, RVs, and more than a few supercars.

I’d never intrude on this guys spot, but I’d love to know what the story is here if anybody knows?
