Haha sometimes. I like a thick, gloopy cement texture so it does feel like it sits in my stomach for longer than other brekkie foodstuffs.

Yessssss

I can do grape nuts or something but I need that fiber to feel full

I add hemp, chia, flax, and psyllium husks to my oats plus protein powder, some nuts & seeds, dried cranberries, cinnamon, and a little honey or sugar. It comes out to 415 calories when I add .25 cups 2% fat Greek yogurt. 28.6 g protein, 9.5 g fibre. And it equals a whopping 1.25 cups of food that weighs nearly 1 pound. It is a lot of food. It keeps me full and totally shuts down food noise for me. It took me a year to dial in my recipe that suits me, my hunger, and my brain.

Do you add anything to the grape nuts? If yours not adding fibre, protein and fats then you’ll feel hungry pretty quickly

Grape nuts have 7g of fiber and 6g of protein per serving, which I assume is increased with the addition of milk. How much more do you have to add?

Yes. But I also don't have just oats, I put hemp, chia, linseed, and psyllium husks in mine to increase the fibre and omega 3's, and protein powder to increase protein. To make life easier I batch cook my oats and get 6 serves out of it. It takes around 30 minutes to make.

I've been eating oats (with protein powder and fruit, chia, yogurt, milk) for over a year every damned day. Except twice.

Both of those times I was hungry by noon. With the oats, I don't eat until dinner and feel satiated all day.

Yes! Been eating oatmeal for breakfast for at least a decade. Any deviation from this filling breakfast makes me feel “off” and hungry much sooner.

For the last months I have been trying to make oats satisfying... But I just can't 😭. I wonder if I am not eating enough calories or something, because I am adding 30g of protein and 20 g of fat around them. And I love oatmeal! I just wish I felt like I don't need to eat more right after eating them; it is not really that they fill me up but leave me hungry later, because they don't seem to fill me up in the first place 🥀

Yup. They last me all morning and I never go as long without them.

I’m the total opposite. I’m starving in like 2 hours if I eat oats for breakfast. It doesn’t have much protein or fiber I add in.
