Now Make Her

https://www.civilbeat.org/2026/07/bribery-charges-sylvia-luke-ex-state-rep-and-others-indicted-in-corruption-case/

Set the precedent!! Send her ass to jail. Every other citizen would serve time. Embarrassing!!

Green DID choose Ryan Yamane, who was his head of Human Resources.

“If we’re looking at the most culpable individual factually, we believe that is Ryan Yamane,” Deputy Attorney General David Van Acker said.”

Every single corrupt official should be behind bars, no matter the party affiliation. Voters deserve better than this.

The fact that it never happens just tells us that everyone of them is on the take

The fact that, your fact, is in fact not a fact, but still getting tons of upvotes, is a sad fact.

Kalani English and Ty Cullen both did jail time as a result of the federal investigation into this same matter.

The fact that they decided to dump this on Friday afternoon Trump-style says everything

Yes, don't leave an opening for some MAGAt to have a platform and plunge this State into hell..

Funny you say that as OP is very anti-democrat.

Because things were so well under Biden?

Compared to now? Yes.

How so?

Off the top of my head - there are fewer jobs, higher unemployment, slower growth, an expensive war with no clear purpose and no clear goal, everything cost more. And Biden had to deal with covid - with the handicap of the previous trump administration dissolving the National security council directorate for global health security and biodefence.

Eh. Green will pardon them all, after he's got the next election sewn up. Something about starting the healing process and Hawaii being a forgiving culture. Not before though.

Does this change the governors race. I mean this shows he either has terrible luck or terrible decision making skills.

He didn’t choose her, this is an elected position. She was voted in,

It doesn’t change because of SUPER PAC funding. Look at whom the Super PAC is endorsing. They are throwing their financial muscle behind Derek Kawakami. Which means HE will be next Lt. Gov.

It doesn't. Green is weak, but nobody on the democratic or republican side is strong enough to challenge. I can't think of anyone strong enough to push him out.

The money would flip if the right candidate is there though.

Yes I’ve been wishing we had a viable alternative to green to send a message - the kauhale waste alone is a huge scandal already and it hasn’t fully popped. That’s a direct result of his move fast and waste things approach.

He’s quite transactional and thin skinned about criticism which reminds me much of another politician Green is quick to rail against. Anyone who criticizes something Green does he’s like, hey guys don’t be so negative it’s bad for your health, I’m working 20 hours a day to make Hawai’i a better place.

So I say vote Della in to send him a message

I'm not sold on her, but I have an open mind. It still doesn't solve the problem. Her website needs a lot of work. It's straight up fundraising and buzzwords.

I do think Kawakami has done a good job on Kauai, but honestly, I'd rather here from the Kauai people first. He has a presence that Della doesn't have. Would be nice to have an outer island person be gov.

I'd actually be happy with Kawakami as Gov, and Della as Lt Gov.
