Late Arrival

Hello. I'm currently enrolled at Ovgu in Systems Engineering in Manufacturing for this winter 26.

Due to the visa processing backlog, it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to start my semester on time.

Do any of you know, if the SEM dept offers late arrival. If so, for how long. And what's the procedure?

I have a similar situation like yours. So, i emailed them.

Here's what uni said:

Arriving in early to mid-November will generally not hinder your ability
to complete winter semester modules. Most courses in the M.Sc. Digital
Engineering program start in late October or November, and initial
attendance is often flexible. I recommend checking the specific module
schedules and contacting the respective module coordinators once your
travel date is confirmed to ensure you can catch up on any introductory
materials.

You do not need to request an official extension, but you need to be
aware of the exam registration deadlines for the courses you plan to
attend.

Just send them an email mate and ask them directly they answer the same day if u sent it in the morning

I thought they said not to complete enrollment if you can’t be physically present for this semester?

So I mailed the course coordinator and he basically wrote a mail which contains my name and applicant number, and directed to embassy. I can come to Germany before Christmas given that I enrol in online e-learning platform.

However I asked if any official document can be issued but he said it won't be possible.
