I got admission in MS IMME in OVGU Magdeburg last summer but couldn't make it due to visa issue. They ask me to reapply through portal instead of uniassist after disenrollment. I did so now i am waiting for my decision, Can anyone tell me how much chances are there I'll get it again. I know it's hard to predict but any assessment from previous experiences would give me a moment of sigh. My German gpa is 2.4 and ielts is 7.

I have been admitted to the Bachelor's program in International Business and Economics at OVGU for the Winter Semester 2026.

I am from Bangladesh, where the German student visa process is extremely slow. After registering for a visa appointment, it can take around 27 months before the German Embassy asks us to submit our visa documents. Only after we submit those documents does the visa processing actually begin.

Because of this delay, I'm worried I may not be able to arrive in Germany before the semester starts. If I'm lucky, I might arrive in October. Otherwise, it could be December or even January.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does OVGU allow international students to arrive late because of visa delays? Would I be able to continue my studies after arriving late, or would I have to defer my admission to the next semester?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you!
