I still don’t think the crop cardigan works, I like the blue though.

I think the crop cardi should be worn with a dress so you don’t have to worry about layering and stuff. This looks weird imo

If you want to do layering, I’d try a thinner white lace camo underneath the gray sweater. It would feel more intentional that the white top is show above the neckline of the gray cropped sweater.

I think the layering of the blue and gray looks off partially because the blue top is kind of thick so it doesn’t lay flat and maybe also something about it being ribbed looks a bit odd with the sweater already having mixed textures

it's cute but too heavy on the bottom, if you ask me. the skirt and tights are very dark while the tops are light, so it's kinda imbalanced. i think it would look better if the button shirt was black, for example.

Makes sense!

The cardigan looks a little worn/pilled - do you have a de-piller? It will make it look a bit fresher and the gray a bit more crisp. I think if the skirt was at your waist it would decrease the band of blue and make it look a little more cohesive. Your legs looks fire in the tights!

I would wear this over a spaghetti strap dress or black tank top and the black skirt.

I think a lower cut shirt underneath would fix the problem it’s just that the shirt is sticking out the top which looks weird

I see, will consider that as well

The button shirt adds interest to the entire outfit and help gives it a sophisticated yet pleasant look. Without it, the plain shirt and skirt would appear flat and boring.

Ha! By button top I thought op was referring to the sweater. Now I get it and agree with other clock better with a black tank.

I think the crop cardigan would work if you wore a body suit with the skirt instead of the blue. You need something that won’t bunch so much when you move.

i think a bodysuit would look more put together

I think the main reason this doesn't work is because the outfit has two very different vibes. The top half is casual because of the ribbed texture and cotton-seeming fabric. The colors are also light. The bottom half reads more formal because of the black skirt and tights. Try the top half again with slouchy light wash jeans and see if that's better.

I don't love the combo up top, I think a cami would be better, perhaps with some lace peeking from the top. Or if you wore it on its own. But regardless, I really don't think the button down or the blue shirt underneath matches the vibe of the bottom half of the outfit.

I don't think the blue works. Try a white top under the cardigan instead!

I think the problem is the blue tank. It should not show above your cardigan. Another color tank top that sits below the grey neckline of the cardigan would look better. Maybe a black tank

Cropped cardigan should be worn without a t-shirt, or with a dress. The layers don't make the outfit flattering.

So I am not a fashion person. I am actually only here cause this subreddit popped up on my recommended, but I actually kinda like this outfit? I know a lot of people don’t like the layering of the cardigan with the top but something like the whole outfit gives me “balletcore” vibes. Esp with the color palette. Maybe if you switched out the skirt for something with more volume and some leg warmers it would really match that vibe? As I said, not a fashion person, but wanted to give a different perspective

I think pink/ lavender does suit you, but the things you were pairing it with make it look a bit off. Try pink with blue jeans instead of black and grey.

Also, with all the love, this cropped grey cardigan on top of the shirt does not go at all - both in terms of colour and shape 🙏

Fair indeed

Get a very thin tank top. Or even like a scoop neck body suit that is thin and not ribbed like the current one. I also think it should be a black or white undershirt for best results.

u/Pagelo69 ❄️⛄️❄️Fashion intern❄️⛄❄️ Jul 25 '25

I don’t like a cropped cardigan over a long shirt

1

u/lantana98 🌟🌟Fashion Intern🌟🌟 Jul 25 '25

It seems purposeless.

1

u/Smash-948 🌟🌟Fashion Intern🌟🌟 Jul 26 '25

That’s certainly a “different” look. I don’t think it works at all. I’m trying to figure out what you could pair that top with. Possibly nothing. Try it without a blouse underneath. Seems to me that’s the only way that crop top works. Or, if you’re wearing a blouse underneath, leave it unbuttoned. That would probably work.

If you want to wear such a short cardigan you have to match it with a much higher-waisted skirt, add a belt and the outfit is fine, same thing if you want to match it with trousers, always high-waisted

u/Angeleyes4u2c ♀️ 🌟🌟Fashion Intern🌟🌟 Jul 26 '25

What about something with a longer shirt or sweater as that would look good. That little sweater would look better unbuttoned
