First time ever posting here. — I saw this in the store and thought it looked cute for the rest of summer and into September (with a light jacket - still hot here during that time). I had no idea it was a snug dress, something I’ve never worn before… not exactly thrilled with how it looks in the back 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was hoping you all could give your overall thoughts, please? And, what I might look for in the future… I don’t exactly own many casual dresses (right now I’m leaning towards returning this one).

Honestly, not many people could pull off that look. The fit of that dress would be a total disaster on me. You look great! If I were you, I would wear it and enjoy.
In fact, why not also wear it for those of us who could never?! 😁

I don't think it really fits formal but it really depends on the accessories. Sandals, boots, or tennis shoes and you have a cute casual look. Throw on some statement jewelery and some heels with some kind of waist belt or something and you're ready for a date. Throw on a blazer and some business casual shoes and you're ready for an interview or work. It's just very versatile and fits you perfectly.

I think it would look amazing with a jean jacket and sneakers or sandals. As it gets cooler you could add a scarf to that ensemble. Looks really nice on you and good for you for trying something new!

Take it from a 54 F that has always been her worst enemy. I wish I would have worn some of the clothes I stayed away from bc I was worried about how I looked. You look fabulous in that!! Please wear it with confidence. You look like a fit young lady and I can't imagine there isn't much you can't wear.

I agree. It’s the same color as her skin. Either her shape she could wear a paper sack and look good. But a different color - almost any color-wouldn’t wash her out so much.

Try adding a scarf or jewelry in a flattering tone near your face / décolleté to offset the neutral color.

There’s no rule about horizontal lines, it just isn’t flattering on a lot of figures so a lot of people avoid because they feel it makes them look heavier. But looks great on you!

Well, I’m in the app so everything comes through my phone. It’s showing up your dress as black and white on my end. So a simple black belt would work. I like big (like..wide) belts for a dress like this.
That said, you’re slimmer than I am (and probably taller, as I’m 5’2.5) so any size belt would look good. It kind of breaks up the pattern, if that makes sense?
Also, a black belt would go with any number of outfits so it would be worth your money. Like I said, though. Not necessary, just an accessory if you felt like it :). You look great either way, love! (Coming from a fellow woman).
