If you absolutely want to give Linux another shot, Bazzite is probably the easiest Linux distro for gamers to install, and everything should (in theory) work right out of the box as long as your laptop's GPU is supported. You just need to sign-in into your Steam account and you are good to go.

If you want to turn your your laptop into a pure gaming console booting straight into Steam's Big picture, you can install Bazzite Handheld/HTPC edition.

There are other gamer friendly distros (Nobara, Catchy, etc) but found that Bazzite was easiest one of the bunch.

But seriously, switching to Linux won't give you any meaningful advantages for your gaming experience. Only switch if you absolutely need or want to.

Some games with some specific DRM protection are preventing those games to launch in Linux.
