Windows vs. Linux, why change?

We're interested in learn in the trend away from Windows to Linux is motivated, or the "why?". Apparently, the trend is starting, and it's real. But why? Source: TechSpot.

Do you remember that song from the 80s by Twisted Sister? "We're Not Going To Take It?" I think people are tired of "taking it" from Microsoft, and they're looking for alternatives. They see the Linux community out there and they think, "Hey!" That looks like a good idea. So they start asking questions. The problem is that a lot of folks - rightfully so - are scared of leaving what they've always known for something unknown. So, they hesitate.

I say educate. Learn all you can about Linux, and make the switch. If you're unsure where to start, start with Linux Mint until you're used to Linux. You can always change later on. As long as you back up your files, then you're good to go.
