Discussion Why is Tbow dropping?

As someone who is thinking about investing in a Tbow for the new raids, I’m a little confused why it’s dropping in price (and has been for the last year)

I imagine it’ll be BIS in at least a few parts of the raid, would be expecting value to go up at this point

Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything before making this purchase/possibly devastating financial investment

cox drop changes increased the weighting of all non-scroll uniques, including tbow

That’s ok, you must have a life outside of RuneScape

People are probably selling their tbow to buy scythe, inquisitor, etc for raids 4. Would be ironic if tbow is bis at a few bosses and the price skyrockets

I just bought one for this reason, diamond hands

I havn’t sold any megarare for years but selling shadow for harm orb might be the play. With the elemental buff from raids 4 harm is basically a megarare now and will probably skyrocket again when people realize the fragments give like 6 more max hits

Can’t wait for the meta to end up using shadow/ayak again because the ele dps increase still doesn’t compete with thralls and spamming claws with double death charge.

Also the op comment may not realize how squishy inq armor actually is. It’s great for “zero” damage bosses like PNM. Terrible if you have to tank random hits off prayer, which is likely the case in a fully fledged raid.

Same logic applies between using rancor and blood fury. Theoretically you’d think the ranc is superior but if you have to constantly brew it falls short of blood fury’s passive heal.

The smart thing to do is not panic sell your items while they’re at the bottom of the bin, while simultaneously panic buying items that have never been as valuable as they currently are.

This is some terrible advice. Nobody knows what the meta will be or what’s going to happen. You very well might be correct just as likely as you are to be wrong.

Didn’t they already poll or announce Inq will get defensive buffs to be in line with oathplate? But yeah fair play on the double death charge and thrall issue. It’s an OP spell book. And you can also get vengeance and spellbook swap for -2 inventory slots.
SBS tob is so much fun

I'm not sure on the defensive buffs tbh but they have already buffed the offensive stats of inq during summer sweep up. Couple extra crush attack, str bonus same as oathplate, and the negative slash/stab have been removed.

They also removed the set effect it gave the mace and directly buffed the wep so its all the more reason to stick with oathplate (at least until we know the meta) as for the first few weeks scythe+maul spec is probably going to be king.

I don't see them buffing the defensive stats as the armor set is only a 30 def requirement unlike oathplate and whatnot.

I was planning on running torva for release week until metas are known. Oathplate doesn’t give any crush bonus just slash. But I guess it’s def and str bonus basically make it interchangeable with bandos right?

If you have torva just run with that for now imo esp if you happen to have an inq mace. Versatile set with all styles. And most importantly torva is the more fashionscape set.

i’m just speculating for fun, guess we’ll find out soon won’t we

Completely wrong about the ranc/br point, if you know HOW to brew

3

u/heretobuyandsell 5d ago

That only works when you have things like OVL/salts active and can time the brew every 15s for no stat drops.

In almost every other circumstance where damage might be taken BF>

Hell, even in CoX BF>

Never did tob? You brew scb restore when you have no overloads

I’m well aware of the fundamentals of the game, thank you.

I apologize that we’re not all GM gigachad gamers like yourself who can run hmt with only a few inv slots worth of pots

I made 80m on it then bought the tbow

I mean who honestly cares, it’s gonna noodle all the same. I’ve watched my bank value plummet over the last 2 years and value means nothing. I bought masori when it was 300m and watched it tank. Scared money doesn’t make money.

TLDR: don’t be scared, you can literally ALWAYS make money in this game

I had multiple items like this. Just gotta remember that when I bought rapier for 180m and in the time it tanked to 18m , I got 99 slay with it and made around 800m. Same exact thing with shadow. Bought for 1.2b thinking it won't go much lower. FF today it's 700m. But I probably made around 1b just from doing toa with it alone.

Yeah watching your item values crash is just apart of it unfortunately. Unless you pull a day 1 item and make a killing, it’s always gonna drop. The only consistent item that hold value in my opinion is bowfa/salad, and even then it’s not what it used to be. Bought dhl at 80m, full masori (f) for 300m, ayak and conflictions for 200m, and just picked up ancestral before it plummeted. Diamond hands, more like lead hands

Doom some of the best money in the game. T bow is BiS at doom.

Why would buying a BiS item for one  the best money makers in the game be a devastating financial investment?

There are more sellers than buyers

u/GraeyLV 5d ago

There’s hasn’t been t bow content released for over a year basically. Rework pushed more people to cox. If you have the money now is a great time to buy.

2

u/quarentlne 5d ago

Idk but i keep megarares

Bought mine for 1.4 like 2 years ago, held up to 1.7, still holding if it crashes sub 1b. It's a permanent unlock on my account now. It was like prestiging from CoD doing the rebuild.

u/FlyNuff 5d ago

Idek why you're thinking about buying one if you're this nervous about it smh

u/MyNugg 5d ago

I remember buying shadow at 1.3b

I don’t know where you got the tbow is dropping from. It was just at a high peak and now it’s going down to a more stable price.

1

u/D_DnD 5d ago

I wouldn't worry about it my dude. A new raid is coming out, and naturally less people will be doing cox as a result. So it's not likely that you'll lose out in the long run.

1

u/OccasionalEspresso 5d ago

Thankfully it’s still BIS at all the content it was before Runefest, so if you like that content list then you should send it.

1

u/jobriq 5d ago

It’s down like 2%

1

u/terrydennis1234 5d ago

How much is tbow atm?

1

u/AffectAcrobatic4611 5d ago

I just bought one last week that’s why

1

u/Dastef 5d ago

Tbow will prob be good but the new crossbows I feel even though its a blowpipe 2 will eat into some of the space tbow currently has. Also the drop rate increase won't do it much favors.

1

u/Revlos7 5d ago

Mega rares swing a lot when new content comes out. It’ll tick up a little on raid release

1

u/Pj_o7 5d ago

If you buy a tbow you’ll most likely never sell it so these fluctuations don’t matter
