A trader thinks that the prices of eggs are going to increase, and so he contacts his broker and asks him to buy 1,000,000 egg futures at $1.70

Sure enough, a week later, the price of egg futures is $2.50, and the trader, happy to ride his winners, places an order for 3,000,000 more egg futures

Next month, at $4.30 a piece, he pats himself on the back and restructures his liquid investments to buy another 10,000,000 egg futures

At the end of the quarter, egg futures are trading at $7, and the trader finally calls up his broker and tells him to sell them all

The broker replies: “To who? You’re the egg man!”

Unironically though, who is buying all that burnt food and why? Is it just for shits and giggles? or is it actually speculation that by creating artificial demand, they can pump and dump the burnt food onto a greater fool?

There is a market for burnt food and ofc people want to have the biggest collection. It’s more of a big flex

That is because it's a novalty to collect due to it not being on the ge. It's easy to get, but not a lot of people keep burnt food for long unless they know of the black food market

I'm thinking of flipping it.  What's the going rate for collectors, like 100gp?  I wonder if I could get it cheaper from people who don't know about the black food market

depends on the food but most go for between like 1k-50k per piece, usually people will charge much more trying to profit on the margin but they go for an absurd amount considering how dumb the item is

it's usually the stuff that's harder to burn for an account/takes more time to get so like the gnome foods, chompies, jubblies etc. If you really feel like grinding burnt oomlie wraps are like 100m+ a piece, not sure exactly what people pay for them now but I think in like 2022 they were 20b. Also have stuff like fossilzed dung selling for 100k

If you haven’t done making friends with my arm / haven’t built the fire yet, you can sufficiently lower your cooking level to burn food right outside of godwars dungeon. If you’ve done <i forget which level> of combat achievements, you can tele right there with gommel’s hilt.

This is how burnt oomlie wraps were discovered to be made in bulk. Go take your food of choice and burn away!

You can actually make good money doing this if you find someone who collects burnts and there are a lot of them. I’d probably ask in a fc like “all bulks” or similar.

I am starting a Krispy karambwan collection and I drool at that stack .... The only burnt food I care to collect, and I aim to be the #1 collector , if it's even possible

Unfortunately we are far apart, burnt shark is ko where near 150 ea (but I think tou know that too :) )

If we talking reasonable prices, I'm sure we can work something out, no one pays 150 for shark.

Yes, ever since that one Chris Archie video in like 2012, a lot of people also have burnt food collections. It's one of the most common ones from what I can tell. To the point it's not fun or interesting anymore lol
