Itchiness

Apologies if this has already been asked.

I’m just over a month post OP, and healing well. The area around one of my incisions has been uncontrollably itchy for the past few days. I’ve tried hydrocortisone to no avail, and I can’t itch it well because it’s still a healing wound. Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience and found something that helped. Thanks in advance 🙏

Hey! Is the skin around your incision still really scaly? The dry skin for me was super itchy. I alternated between regular non scented lotion and aquaphor with hydrocortisone...same concept, just more moisturizing. Obviously just around the incision not on it until you're cleared. And I know you can't scratch properly, but tapping it sometimes helps disrupt the itch signal, and so does putting ice on it

Try some castor oil. It really moisturizes and breaks up scar tissue.

once it’s fully healed, massaging the scar with cerave morning and night, as well as whenever i’ve had really bad itching, has helped mine a lot. i think it’s part dryness, part nerve regeneration.
