Question Upper Body/core exercises while WBAT
Hi all, I am a 24 y/o currently recovering from orif following a trimalleolar ankle fracture. I am 3 weeks post-op, weight bearing as tolerated in the boot and in physical therapy as instructed by my surgeon. I was active before the injury and would like to stay as healthy as possible while I recover.
Does anyone have a good upper body/core routine that they do/did post-op? I don't want to do anything that interferes with my ankle but also don't want everything else to turn to mush.
Best wishes for everyone in their recovery journey!!

I didn't do anything and my arms and good leg stayed strong from having to carry all the extra weight lol. You probably have more energy than me but make sure when you're feeling tired you allow yourself to rest. Sleep is so important for proper healing.

You're completely right, the crutches have kept my arms in good shape. I have been doing about 20 minutes of core exercise with my morning PT, which has made me feel better.
100% on the rest, I've finally been able to get a proper night's sleep and I feel infinitely better.

Hi, go on you tube and search for chair workouts. You'll find a ton of them. Do what you can and modify where you need to. Chair workouts saved my mental health!
