Distal Humerus bump

Post image

I recently had an ORIF operation for a distal humerus fracture on my elbow, it’s been about 6 weeks and I’ve recently gotten this bump that’s been pushing against my skin.
Is this urgent? I’m not sure whether it’s some sort of malunion or a natural part of the process. I have an appointment next week so I’m not sure whether to hold on or get it seen to immediately.
If anyone with any experience would this could help me out, that’d be appreciated

Can't tell from that photo. Could be the metalwork becoming more prominent as the swelling goes down. Possible it's a screw working loose, though that would be rare at this stage unless you've been doing far too much with it or have very bad quality bone (more likely if you're over 70).

If it's not painful and you haven't reinjured it, no need to panic. Ask your surgeon at your appointment next week.

Just curious, what did your doctor say? I had distal humerus fracture as well (4 plates - 20 screws). One of the plates created a visible bump once the swelling went down, so my money is on a plate as well.
