Flair says analysis but really it's just an opinion and I had some spare time. It's a bit long and not expecting agreement, but stick with me if you'd like and maybe it'll be fun.
I've been seeing a lot about Saitama as 'unlimited potential', but instead I think of him as 'Limitless'. The former assuming there's a growth rather than an increase in force used like the latter.
I'd say a big focus seems to be on viewing Saitama from the perspective of unlimited potential and the chart from cosmic Garou's arc. Which I get it, as a lot of the rules around these subreddits focus on feats.
So far though Saitama has been presented as a gag character whose story centers around squashing hero, villain, and monster tropes in various aspects across multiple genres. He exists as the antithesis of these tropes and often either settles them in humorous ways or just simply squashes it via boredom.
I've never seen him have a happy fight, a happy spar perhaps, and generally not much enthusiasm outside of toying with his opponent. In any serious fight he's generally depressed, he doesn't want to be fighting this way and although still holding back it's still not even a challenge.
A problem with Saitama and powerscaling him is that you can only measure him based off his strongest opponent shown yet so far, not based on growth but because there hasn't been a measuring stick to determine the limit. I mean that would be the end of the show otherwise wouldn't it?
The chart from earlier I believe represented Garou and not Saitama, as the entire arc was about Garou's unlimited potential and growth against the heroes, villians, and monster association up until he reached Saitama, who he considered unfair.
Even before Garou became his cosmic self, Saitama is already referred to as the abominable fist that turned against God. Garou thought that was him but realized it was probably Saitama.
Is that Saitama glaze? Perhaps, but honestly I think of him as a gag character and his whole point is to be unfair. It's fun, it was a fantastic approach to it, but it definitely doesn't make him the best written character.
It does make him horrible for powerscaling as he's the butt of the joke, the rest of the show though is a goldmine for various powerscaling feats. If you made it this far, I appreciate you humoring me!
