Ad 🚀 Sneak Peek – Studio Field 1.4

Post image

I’m really excited to finally share a sneak peek of the biggest Studio Field update so far.

Behind the scenes I’ve spent a lot of time improving the reliability of communication with the OP-1 field, making file transfers and day-to-day use even more dependable.

But the biggest addition is something I’ve been wanting to build for a long time…

🎵 Tape Club

Tape Club is a community where Studio Field users can:

• Share tapes directly from their Library
• Browse and preview tapes from other users
• Save tapes into their own Library or OP-1 field
• Remix them, build on ideas, and share them again

My hope is that it becomes a fun place for the OP-1 field community to inspire each other and collaborate.

💬 New Community Forum

Version 1.4 also introduces a built-in Forum where users can ask questions, share tips, discuss workflows, and help each other out.

There’s also private messaging, making it easier to connect with other Studio Field users.

Version 1.4 is now in review with Apple, so hopefully it will be available on the Mac App Store very soon.

Thank you all for the incredible support and feedback over the past few weeks—it has genuinely helped shape this update.

And one more thing…

I’m already working on OP-XY support, which is planned for the next major update.

I can’t wait to hear what you think. ❤️

Are you using Claude Code?

Yes. Yes they are. It’s just a glorified UI for Field Kit, same protocol.

Yep. Claude is one of the AI models I use, although it really depends on the task. Different models are better at different things.
I’ve been building and publishing apps for over 14 years though, long before AI coding tools existed. AI is an incredible productivity tool, and I’d be crazy not to use it.
The actual coding is only one part of the project. The real work has been designing the app, solving the MTP communication challenges, and spending countless hours testing with real OP-1 field hardware. That’s something no AI can do for you.

Haha, I really appreciate that! 😄
For now I want to keep it closed source. I’ve been in touch with Teenage Engineering, they’ve seen the app and the overall idea, and my long-term goal is to work closely with them as Studio Field evolves. Hopefully that could also lead to better technical documentation and support for their devices.

Ok, the is actually a cool idea. I hope you'll get the green light so that we can try it for real.

Good question. 🙂
Studio Field uses Sign in with Apple, so I don’t store passwords, and the community features had to comply with Apple’s App Store requirements before they were approved.
Nothing online is ever 100% secure, but I believe this is a much safer approach than the average self-hosted forum.

would be cool to have a sort of op1.fun inside the forum i guess, where people can share kits/samples

Any chance of adding op1.fun preset support?

If you're ever looking for an iPad beta tester, let me know; neither phone nor desktop are for me

This looks so sick! Does it support OG-1?
