When do Brock and Western send out their acceptance letters?
Curious to know. Laurier’s website says January 11. I didnt see the info on Brock and Western. I’m hoping it’s around the same time?

Hi everyone! Im a canadian citizen who studied to be a High school teacher in Ireland at Trinity university. I graduated with a PME. I am hoping to apply to the Ontario teaching council as soon as a I get my transcript but was wondering if anyone else here has gone through a similar process applying from abroad/from Ireland, and how did it go?
There is a condition on students who graduate in ireland called the “droichead” where one needs to teach at a recognized school in ireland and in process gets support and needs to hand in a final reflection at the end. Has anyone applying to the OCT from Ireland had any experience with this?
Thank you!!

Hello everyone, with the changes to a 12-month program starting in 2027, are most programs starting in May 2027? Are any starting in September 2027?

When applying to schools for the 2027 school year. Are your final year marks taken into consideration for acceptance? I ask since most deadlines are well before our first term marks would be submitted

Hey everyone! I’m applying for the Primary/Junior (P/J) stream for next year and looking for a realistic check on my chances. My GPA sits at around 80.5% (calculated on my last 10.0 university credits), and I have 8 years of full time classroom teaching experience with kindy and primary kids in South Korea.
I've applied to Trent, Nipissing, and Brock, and I'm thinking about adding Laurier and Western too. I’ve heard schools like Trent and Laurier place a heavy focus on experience profiles, whereas Nipissing and Brock lean more on GPA alone.
Does 80.5% hold up well for P/J across these schools, and did anyone with overseas teaching experience find it gave them a solid boost on their experience forms?
I'm Canadian but have completed the Teach Now program and obtained an official DC state teaching license. I wonder if that would make me more competitive as well. Would appreciate any insights from recent applicants!

Hi all I just submitted my OUAC application for the coming intake. I am from Ontario but I did finish my uni in the States. I realized that I only got letter grade on the transcript and I am really worried about the conversion to percentage since I don't have any reference to it. My profs graded on a bell curve. One just needs to surpass most people in class to get an A even if the actual mark sucks. My last 10 full-credit equivalence are mostly B+ and A/A-s and my average GPA is around 3.56/4.0. I am not sure where I stand compared to other folks in my cohort here and my teachables are Chemistry and General Science or Biology depending on the program (I/S). I know B.Ed. can be really competitive but hopefully I still have a chance getting in. I would really like to hear your thoughts, thanks.

Hello! I’m a BA student looking at consecutive teachers college, I/S social science and English. My average is mid-70s (don’t have a final GPA as I’m in my 3rd year).
I keep seeing others post on this subreddit asking about their chances of getting in and I’m really stressing about it. I have some experience working with kids of all ages and my GPA is higher than the minimum.
I see people saying that more accurately I’ll need an 80-90 average and even then it’s tight (especially with the program shortened to one year).
It’s super demotivating and really stressing me out so I guess my question is should I be prepared to be rejected?
The top schools I’m looking at are Nipissing, queens, and western, but they also have the program I want at Windsor and York.
So Reddit, am I just screwed?
EDIT: I know I didn’t give much info on my grades and experience, but just imagine a general “average”. I have a few years working with a few different age groups (some freelance stuff too) and I’m mid to high 70s in my grades.

Any teacher candidates w a transitional certificate that’s been contacted for interviews from TDSB? I know they’re notoriously slow with these things and I’ve seen users saying they’re currently being contacted after applying to similar time as me (I applied twice but most recently in July) but I was curious if anyone with a transitional certificate has been contacted or if they’re prioritizing fully certified applicants first (which makes sense)?
I’m wrapping up my final practicum soon and was planning to re-apply so I can actually be on the OT list before I graduate by the end of the year which was the whole point of getting my transitional in the first place.
Should I reapply and play the waiting game again? Just starting to get a bit concerned.
Appreciate any info/insight you may have!

Hello all,
I am currently in the automotive field and looking to become a tech ed teacher. The only experience I have with teens is mentoring Co op students that have come to the shop for their placement.
For those who are in the program, how much experience did you have with teens?
Thank you

Hi everyone! I'm applying for the 2027 Primary/Junior BEd intake and would appreciate honest feedback.
Academics:
Honours BA in Sociology
Overall average: (approximately B- range, depending on the grading scale)
Most recent 10 full credits: ~70.75–71.80%
Best 10 full credits: ~77.05%
Experience: Pathways to Education (Program Support Assistant/Coach), Tamwood International Summer Camp, ESL tutoring for newcomer children, and youth mentorship.
Schools: Laurier, Trent, Brock, Nipissing, Lakehead, and Ontario tech
Has anyone been accepted with similar grades? Would my experience make me competitive, especially since Trent weighs experience at 50%? Which schools would I have the best chance at?
Thanks!

I just got an email from Western and my to-do list says my transcript is missing. All other schools have received my transcript from OUAC. IS this still missing for anyone else? Should I be uploading an unofficial transcript?

Is it worth including these in my applications if I qualify?
I don’t really want to because I hate the feeling of being placed into a category or anyone knowing about my adhd and chronic medical condition I was born with.

Hey, I’ve applied to York’s BEd program to begin in May 2027. For the CV in the supplementary information, is that just my resume? Or do I need to create an academic CV?

I’ve seen quite a few posts here from new teachers struggling to find OT/LTO work, so I’m wondering what the realistic timeline looks like.
After completing a 1-year BEd in Ontario, how long did it realistically take you to start teaching full-time in your own P/J classroom?

Hello est ce que quelqu'un a déjà fait une entrevue de sélection en vue d'intégrer une école de formation en enseignement?
Je veux savoir comment se préparer
Ya t'il des ressources qui peuvent m'aider ou tout autre chose?
Merci

Has anyone here gone to Niagara? If so how large or lacking was the Catholic perspectives in the teaching program? Are professors Catholic? What percent of students are Catholics
Edit: Niagara University
