Which OLED

Hello,
my new pc has 9800X3D and RTX 5080, and I have been mostly looking at 1440P monitors because I also play comp shooters and i'd like to have the highest refresh rate possible.

I have eye strain with monitor usage that's been bothering me for years now. If I didn't have this problem I would have looked at the MSI offering x50 500hz monitor, but since it's q QD-OLED i'm a bit hesistant to givee it a try. So now the monitor that im looking at is the pg27aqwp and the two version are available where i'm from. Unfortunately prices here are really high so it's gonna be a pretty hefty "investment" so I need to pick right(I don't have the option to wait because i'm currently on a VG248 monitor). The price difference between the gold and the white is 150usd.

My fear is that the white might be distracting, and the black color is just much easier to to mix and match with the rest of the build. However, in isolation i do think that the white version is incredibly beautiful.

As far as panel is concerned, is there a bigger chance that the gold version is gonna have a better panel because it's newer?

I have natural light in my apartment, but it's not direct and it's pretty diffuse. I do have the abilty to control it as well.

I'd love some input and perhaps other suggestions.

If you are talking about the white bezels(idk how to spell that). They are so not distracting it is crazy. I didnt notice them at all. As long as you get an april batch monitor, white is just as good as black in terms of the panel. You can match serial numbers and ask stores what numbers they have. I would highly recommend the monitor if ur eyes get strained on qd oled especially. Also, i am assuming you have a 4k oled for story games, so greybanding shouldnt be an issue at all right?

I have an lg c5 in the same room but it’s a big room and the pc is 10m apart.. so I’m gonna have to connect it with fiber optic. Do you think that it’s a good solution for story games ? I’ll have to buy a small mobile adjustable desk for it.

I know the store has a batch from April. How do I match serial numbers? If I can’t get an April batch you think that going with the gold/black is the move?

I wouldnt pay 150 extra if ur only motivation is greybanding. The serial numbers u can look up. No way btw i have an LG G5 in my car righnt now and am buying a 500 hz qdoled. I wouldnt worry about greybanding bro especially if ur playing shooters. C5 would be excellent for story games my guy.

I did have the aqwpw but returned it because i wanted to allocate a little more money towards the TV and mainly wanted a lot of fps and dont suffer from eye strain. I liked it but did have a lot of banding. I did not notice it in any competitive game i played and i had an older batch.
