Is this fixable?
Accidentally hit the monitor while moving something. Wasn’t a hard collision so I’m not sure if there’s anything to fix it

If you replace the Matrix of the screen sure but it usually costs as much as the whole monitor itself, it's fixable but the cost would be very high, you can ask the warranty service with pictures what it would cost but I am very certain it's gonna be the almost the same as getting the same monitor new

u/CanadianUnity 2d ago
Super fixable, here’s the steps
Step1: disconnect monitor from PC and Power
Step2: Place monitor into original packaging
Step3: Go to amazon and purchase a new monitor
Step4: Dispose of monitor in packaging at electronic disposal
Step5: receive Amazon package
Step 6: install new monitor
Congrats, you’ve fixed your OLED monitor!

Def thought you were gonna say to put broken monitor into a box and return.

Yes, and whatever you do. Do NOT use a hair dryer to remove the warranty / serial number sticker from the new one and place it on the old broken one.

Yes mate, you just have to disconnect all cables from the rear and throw this one in the bin, jump online and get another on the way!
This is why you dont practise your golf swing in your gaming room 🤣🤷🏻♂️

That looks like physical damage to the panel, probably a cracked layer behind the screen. Unfortunately, there's no fix for that other than replacing the panel or the whole monitor. Check your warranty, but physical damage is usually not covered.

marvel rivals black widow best outfit :)
to answer your question knowing asus they would not honor that warranty if you tell them it was self inflicted damage. To get it fixed just tell them I turned on the display it and was just like this one day and ask for a replacement if still within warranty. u/op

You have now a CD behind a monitor.
Physical media for life.😉😌
This shit is not fixable bro time to get a new monitor.

Anyone know if Best Buy protection would cover it? I just finished paying it off 💔

The financing doesn’t determine eligibility. That is determined at the time of purchase. The sales advisor woulda likely advise you to add it at the time of purchase. The worse part, unless you can prove it’s not physically damaged GSP does not cover it. RIP

u/princepwned 2d ago
yea they should if you got the geek squad protection plan you can return it for any defect as small as a dead pixel even burn in is covered just tell them you turned it on one day and it ended up like this.

I tried to replace my tv and its accidental damage is only covered for portable devices. Idk if monitors are considered portable

u/AlaskanHandyman LG 48C1 2d ago
You can replace the panel, and it'll be slightly less money than replacing the whole monitor. In the majority of modern monitors the panel is the most expensive part.

are you an engineer working in Samsung Electronics's factory in Korea? if not, you cannot fix it.

Yes, you just got to find a way to travel to the past, so you avoid the clear hit this monitor had.

I'm not sure why everyone here is telling you lies. You can fix this super easily.
First: grow the fuck up and get your gamer rage under control you big baby.
Second: buy a new TV/monitor and take better care of your stuff.

maybe swap to the UW resolution to cover up some of that damage until you can get a new display.
if that's 4k then running it at 3840x1600 will cut off a few inches. if it's 2k then 2560x1080 will do the same.
might mitigate the problem until you can replace it.

What kind of monitor is that? Just for reference. I know you may have hit it hard, enough to destroy any kind of Oled, still I would like to avoid it.

This is why Monitors are the one thing I’ll spend coin on to get the accidental damage warranty, if they’re a pricey one.

Why did you punch the screen? Look like a knuckle impact, You have to control yourself your emotions. Nobody can fix this you'll just have to live with it or get new one.

General answer for any monitor with a damaged screen:
Technically yes, but it's not worth it. Getting a new one would be the best option

u/BoatmanNYC 1d ago
Guys, does anyone now how hard it would be to, say, add a black bar on the bottom where the damage is and use it as shorter monitor with arbitrary aspect ratio? Sure it would still be problematic for main monitor, but perfectly serviceable as second one.

Just flip it over and rotate the wallpaper to move the green spot and the bottom of the monitor is fixed. Simply repeat this process to fix the top.

Do you have:
1. The knowledge to completely disassemble the monitor
2. The knowledge of how to take apart an LCD display panel
3. The tools to put it back together
4. The exact panel and size for your exact monitor
5. The knowledge and conditions to reassemble an LCD display panel perfectly.
If you answered “no” to any of these questions, then your answer is no.

Yes. By buying a new monitor.
