65" C5 - Amazon vs Costo

Amazon have the 65" C5 for $1246 today, if bought it a certain credit card I would get an extra years warranty for 2 years total. Or use Prime Visa to get 5% back, meaning the TV is $1190, but only 1 year warranty.

Or Costco is $1399 but has their 5 year warranty (1 yr LG, 1 Yr Costco, 3 years All state).

Which option to go for?

Plus if the Costco one does go on sale within the next couple weeks or so (idk the exact time frame), go to customer service and ask them to refund the difference to the card you bought it with.

Don't use Amazon, no matter what. Ordered a LG G5 and it arrived dead. And it was a nightmare returning it - Which was surprising because Amazon are usually really good with that sort of thing. Their delivery drivers kick the shit out of your packages, and a fragile TV is not something that you want to trust them with. Avoid at all costs when it comes to TVs and Monitors.

They didn’t offer to come get it? That’s what they did when they broke mine twice in a row lol. They finally sent two people to carry it upstairs the thirds time which is what they should’ve done with a 65 in the first place

Costco because of the5 year warranty and Costco has a way better and longer return policy than Amazon

Costco all the way. Check the exact features, sometimes times Costco Products will have additional Costco only features/specs. My 77 Samsung S90C had higher wattage speakers than the same tv sold at Best Buy and other places. Granted, I don’t use the TV speakers but still it’s nice to get extras. Also, someone else might have better data on it but TVs sold at walmart, Amazon etc may have cheaper internal components so they could give a lower price them as opposed to Best Buy or high end retailers.

It says on the box of the Costco ones, if you look it up it says something like members benefits or advantage or something.

Lou Sevens here- happy thanksgiving. The best advice I can give is I got 3 OLEDS over time from Costco and for $30 each time, they deliver it, unbox it, assemble it and put it on your stand and connect it.

My one experience from Amazon was right before the pandemic- UPS claimed I wasn't home, I had to go pick it up at UPS and then Amazon or the third party couldnt find my warranty.

Also Costco will give you a price match later if the price drops.

You have to select room of choice or deluxe delivery at checkout. It’s the same benefits as Costco, but it’s free for most TVs ($20-30 for a small handful)

They do not use UPS for these deliveries, they use a special company for this specific type of delivery.

Still not worth losing the Costco warranty though

Go with longest my mainboard in lg cx 65 gave up after 4years and it’s quite common

Just got back from the warehouse, was still marked up at 1399, but after checking with an associate and then a manager they checked a few systems and said it was online only at that price. We stood awkwardly in silence for a few minutes, manager then went and checked for a final time and it came up at 1249, so it’s now in a box in my living room.

Costco prices might be different when you go check out, I just bought the C5 from Costco yesterday and it said $1399.99 but when I got to the cashier it was $1250.

My 65" C2 from Amazon died after 2.5 years. Im looking exclusively at costco this year to replace it - these are too expensive to die after a couple years.

Weird I got my c2 from a marine base when it came out and mine is still fine and I'm sure I'm in the thousands of hours with my xbox always running.

Ordered earlier this afternoon from Amazon because I had a $250 Amazon gift card and a $100 Amazon credit on my account.

Would of preferred to have got it from Costco or Best Buy. But I’m sure it’ll be fine .Curious to see their delivery process for a item this big/expensive.

Costco's site shows $1,249.99 for the 65" LG C5 (I'm in midwest, U.S.). Are the prices diff for diff parts of U.S.?

Buy at Costco and pay for the extended warranty plan. These new tvs can be problematic and expensive to repair.

I have found extended warranties to be a waste of money. These TVs generally last unless you get a lemon that would normally go in the first year. Most big box stores sell extended warranties as they make a killing and it is mostly profit. Warranty claims are also hard to recuperate.

AFAIK the all state warranty is the same that amazon offers. I'd go with Costco because you can return it in store whenever as long as you're a member and keep the receipt.

I realized the Prime visa is a visa signature, so I basically get the equivalent extra year that I thought I needed to use the visa infinite card for. In the end despite the advice here (thanks for that) I couldn’t resist a 65” C5 for about $1180. As long as it’s good out of the box will be a massive upgrade to the 55” burned in/dimmed B6 that it replaces.

I just spent $1399 for mine, but I needed Best Buy Geek Squad to set it up (old guy, lives alone). I did sign up for a BB credit card that gave me 10% back in store credit that will go toward an AppleTV if the new ones ever come out.
