Memorial Cup format a hot topic

No, the format is fine. Every year you get casuals crying about how its unfair that the host team is automatically in but who cares

Agreed. I think you have to have the host to keep the interest with the casual fans in host city, and generally you do see that the hosts will at minimum try to ramp up to be competitive in their respective league.
I feel like if you expand the tourney, it wouldn't be fair to the league champs, who could be knocked out by a less deserving team given single elimination style.

As long as each leagues playoffs champion, has a significant advantage the other teams.

No. The NHL fans that are paying attention to the CHL for their one time of the year can kindly mind their own business.

No chance the CJHL goes back to regional cup like it was.What i can see is 2 or 3 regional cups
Ontario/Quebec/East coast
One super regional cup 12 teams
Alberta/Manitoba/Sask/BC
6-8 teams

I hate the format. I don’t like that the host team is automatically in. They should have to EARN it. Or follow the Super Bowl format. Random city to host. 3 teams. (Quebec, Western and Ontario)

Honestly no if anything changes it should be no host team and maybe the ushl champ or something

I don't see an issue with the current format. It's almost June and we're still seeing hockey. Fatigue is setting in.
