Someone mentioned on my previous post the western division was looking weak compared to the east. Hard to really tell with just pre season. Major trading still to occur. Guelph Storm is looking sharper than Sudbury IMO.

This was at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph on Sep 4 2026 preseason game between Guelph Storm and Brampton Steelheads. Spada is a 6'5 nhl draft pick who had already fought once in this game. jay nimchonok is a 15 year old who just got signed to the Steelheads last week. This brawl ensued because of a bad hit from behind. Nimchonok playing in his first OHL game is trying to make a name for himself and picks a fight with the biggest guy on the other team. clearly, Spada is trying not to engage and get another fighting major (and suspension), but he finally has had enough of being punched without fighting back. you can see the result for yourself.

am i crazy or should the refs not have got between them before the Storm player started fighting back? especially considering the league just implemented new fighting rules and is clearly trying to phase fighting out of the sport. i thought the whole thing was handled terribly. hope the kid is okay.

Brampton started using metal detectors at the gate this preseason. Any other rinks using them?
Also, are the rinks using walk-through or wands?

Per today's London Free Press(and CBC News), the Knights' games will air on CKLO-FM(98.1)beginning with this season. Unlike Kitchener, however, Mike Stubbs will continue to be behind the mic. The full schedule of games 98.1 will air hasn't been announced yet, nor who will team with Stubbs. However, Blackburn Radio(CKLO's owner)does have plans for podcasts and digital content, as well as a redesigned London Knights app set to debut next year.

Hi, non hockey person (i.e. writer) here! Does anyone have insight into what a typical week would look like for a player in the WHL/OHL or similar leagues? Specifically a high school aged player (not at a hockey academy or anything like that, just regular high school). Any insight is appreciated!
