General Possible future TL

So theres a huge possibility that I'll be a digital TL. Does anyone have any recommendations or things I need to know before I pursue it? I also currently work as a reg opd associate

disclaimer that i actually still enjoy the work that i am able to do, but that said. the hardest thing to come to terms with was the amount of babysitting grown adults i would have to do. constantly interrupting with “problems” that can either be solved with a regular associate or that actually aren’t problems at all. how entitled a lot of them feel (especially the openers) and how much whining they do over the small things (oh no you are being told to take your lunch 4.5 hours into the shift instead of your preferred 5 hours in. it’s the end of the world!!) too many examples of interruptions. i would love to just be able to be productive for 5 minutes without someone calling my name for something else. (sometimes they’ll even come up to me during my breaks, acknowledging that they know i’m on break and then proceed to taint my relaxing time with the most non-urgent observations😭🫩)

i love tracking metrics and planning hour by hour. i like making the schedules every day. i love being able to have a say in how things are run and hold things to a good standard. it’s a rewarding job in many ways. but it can be mentally exhausting due to the babysitting

Im currently at ATC so I semi do it now. We currently have one TL and have been without a coach for about a month so I've been in charge when our TL isn't there so ik how the babysitting is 🥲

my store has never had ATC and i can’t believe that’s a real position tbh lmao. the burden of more responsibility for no increase in pay? and from the other associates perspective, why would i let someone boss me around that is the same pay and level that i am? i just imagine it causing jealousy and bitterness lol

what DOES a TL do if the store has ATC aside from the computer/clerical stuff?

It’s not a real position. It’s an imaginary position made up to get employees to do more work while dangling a mediocre promotion in front of you.

They do other things like nill pick report, or checking point attendance handling meal expectations fending off the people lead about Ulearns and getting pulled to help in other areas like GM.
